To some of our idiot locals, mass transit = black people flooding the suburbs. Add in politicians in Cobb/Gwinnett/Clayton over the last 50 years using racist anti-MARTA sentiment for political gain, and here we are.

I mean, MARTA hate is overblown, but many of the complaints are reasonable. They installed urine detectors in elevators cause people were fricking peeing in the elevators at the stations. I don't even know what that means, it's so fricked up. There was a big shootout at some MARTA station 2 months ago.

That was the old layout before they built the current midfield terminal.

Yeah I figured, but still funny to see. That itself would have stopped Hartsfield from being the busiest airport in the world with the interlocking runways.

If there is one thing Atlanta planned correctly it is the airport.

You find me Falcons parking for 20$ within 1.5 miles or Braves parking for 5$ and I'll buy you all your beer for the game.

I think I saw $20 at the one of the more outside lots on Northside on Saturday. Almost positive I have seen it for the regular season.

I have never seen $5 for Braves parking.

I went to the Falcons/Saints game two years ago and parked in a garage for $20 less than a mile from the dome

Found the garage:
LINK

It MAY have been $25, but im pretty sure it was $20. Def didnt pay anything in the 30s or higher. Distance is about .7 miles

I parked at the yellow lot which is right next to the marshaling yard (Ivan Allen and northside) very close to the stadium for like 10+ years and it was $20 the entire time (including last year) but I didn't go to a game this season.

For the record, these prices went up in the playoffs

The Falcons need a Super Bowl, but they're not lacking fan support.

BTW,how many Braves fans are in Louisiana? Their support reaches across the South.

I disagree about their fan support. I live here and honestly before the last 3 weeks I've barely heard or seen anything.

Honest question, have you ever been to NOLA? I say that because it is impossible to go there and see the amount of signs, bumper stickers, flags, everything, and come away thinking Atlanta has fan support. It is still a rarity to see any of that sort of stuff in Atlanta.

I parked on Northside near the John St intersection for $20 week 17 for Saints @ Falcons. Less than 3/4 mile walk.

I must have missed that one, the ones I saw on north side were 30minimum.

It was definitely on the outskirts, the next few moving up went up to 25 and 30, but the walk isn't too bad.

Yellow Lot has been $35 in the regular season this year. It may have been $30 at one point in 2016, but it definitely jumped in price to $35 by midseason.

I just always find this so amusing.

I'll concede that Falcons support can seem diluted, or less enthusiastic. Part of that is obviously that hundreds of thousands of people from other places pass through Atlanta on a daily basis on their way to somewhere else. And that there are a couple million people here that support an NFL team other than the Falcons, like you.

But on more measurable levels, since you live here, you'd know that Falcons games still somehow pack out bars and the attendance numbers just aren't THAT much better for the Saints. I think the idea people try to sell is that New Orleans is some banner sports town that Atlanta just can't compare to. And that is laughable. It's a city of a totally different size that feels somewhat more centered around their local NFL team.

Falcons fan support really started to reach good levels when Vick came through and then fell off for a minute when the dog thing happened and is now starting to teeter on the really good side again. I really think a super bowl win would do great things for fan support going forward. Couple the fact that it is a huge transplant city and that the Falcons have largely been terrible throughout their existence, most ppl grow up being fans of whatever their parents were. It seems like we have finally reached a point where people are actually growing up as Falcons fans and a SB win would really increase that.

It can't be THAT bad. I only paid around that for parking when I went to the 08 and 09 SEC titles games and I know it was a lot closer than 1.5 miles.
