bad reputation for being a poor sports town?

Georgia folks in ATL love them some UGA. Everyone else here is from somewhere else so while the city of Atlanta is a large market for sports, the fans are diluted from the outside.

With a SB win, the Falcons organization will begin calling on the city of Atlanta and its taxpayers to build them an even newer stadium.

You can bank on that!

Personally, I kind of like the fact that Atlanta is viewed as a place with people from out of state that have their own fav. teams.

It is a melting pot for sure. I do agree it's interesting to have many different groups. On the flip side it is annoying when their fans show up in force to one of our games

It is also not easy for the people OTP to commute in for games so that takes out a large portion of the people who have lived here their whole lives.

I live in Marietta and it's incredibly easy.

So it's easy to go down, pay 50$ for parking and risk your car being broke into. Or ride Marta and be in that shite storm after the game? I have been to tons of Falcons games and it is miserable everytime you leave. Getting there is just as bad if it's a weekday Braves or Hawks game (hopefully not now). Traffic is always fricked. Not to mention if you have to do it during rush hour. Good fricking luck at getting to the game on time. Idk what the hell youre talking about. I am in Marietta as well.

Going to Falcons games isn't that hard, although the Monday/Thursday night games are a nightmare. But then, when the team is pretty good and the matchup is decent, Falcon game attendance is close to the bottom of Atlanta sports problems.

Braves game attendance is different, and has traditionally involved an hour long jaunt across the city to park a decent way from the stadium for something that costs too much and happens 80 times a year.

Hell I live in Smyrna and still hate the drive. But I have learned, get there early to tailgate, then hang around and tailgate afterwards until things die down.

Night games obviously cause problems with the hanging around afterwards, but thats when Der Biergarten comes into play.

Falcons games have always been miserable leaving for me. Getting there is fine. Leaving, especially if it's a close game and everyone stays till the end, is hell on earth

I live in town so I don't try to drive. It's still a hassle walking around and catching an uber in the madness, but relative to leaving any sporting event (especially one without great public transport) I've only found it mildly annoying.

Yea I guess it could always be worse. 929 was actually talking about this yesterday about how bad it is leaving games. Auburn does a great job now with getting people out. 15 years ago it was terrible but they have it figured out now. Dega is who everyone should mirror tho. They have that shite down perfect. 200k drunks leaving and you never sit in traffic.

Marietta is not exactly hard to get on 75 and head south.

I lived In Marietta and we had Falcons seasons tickets for like 12 years (my sister is the only one left in Atlanta and she still has them) and it was really not that hard to get to the game.

Weekday Hawks and braves games are worse, but I still don't find them too tough tbh.

Except it will be Green Bay beating New England in the super bowl, so...

Nobody beating the pats.
This is another case of Green Bay stealing Falcons hope. Just like in 2010.

I've never paid more than $20 for parking, usually $10, and $5 for Braves games and have never had my car broken into. Only ridden MARTA once in my life.

Getting out after Falcons games can be bad but that's for everybody, not just OTPers. Once you get on the Interstate it's smooth sailing.

Just park a little farther away and no issues.

I'm in Woodstock. Takes me about 50 mins to get to the Dome on a Sunday in perfect conditions. Hopefully the expressway on 75 helps once it opens.
