I don't really care since he is not an American.

Search Usain Bolt on Google and this is the pic that comes up. How can you not like and root for the guy. He's an amazing athlete, seems like a pretty good dude and very respectful.

Also, you can't help but root for a guy that only ate McD's chicken nuggets when he was at the Beijing Olympics.

I don't root for him

I don't root against him

I appreciate his greatness and applaud it

But I doo not feel the need to root for legends or greatness or whatever. Seems kinda frontrunner-ish to me. Not my style.

I remember pulling for the defending champ of the 100m (Maurice Greene) in the 2004 Olympics because I didn't like Gatlin from the little that they were showing about him (i.e. Greene's new American rival at time).

I still don't really like Gatlin and don't know much about any other rivals. I pulled for Bolt the other day in the 100m final and probably will pull for him in the 200m unless someone else makes a better story.

It's fun watching Bolt do great things and that's awesome, i'd still root for an American to beat him though.

I like Bolt and have been a huge fan of his, BUT his looking around (disrespecting his opponents) is starting to get annoying
RESPECT THE GAME!!!

I really wish Andre De Grasse would have passed him up when he slowed down too soon in the 200m semis.
And that would have meant what, exactly?

Bolt needs to quit show boating and focus on running the best race possible.

DeGrasse was trying to push him to work harder in the semi so he would have less in the tank for the final. He's grinning while he does it, but good majority of the front runners for these races try to expel the least amount of energy possible before the final.

Bolt saw him coming and pushed the gas a little at the end to make sure that didn't happen.

Still wouldn't have mattered as top 2 auto-qualify. They were just playing around with each other and are good friends. Bolt is a jokester, loves being barefoot, eating junk food, and smoking a little weed in his free time. He is a classic island guy that happens to be one of the greatest physical specimens ever.

Bolt is the man. He is apparently a really good dude and is very respectful of other countries and medal winners. Always stops what he's doing to respect a medal ceremony and anthem that has nothing to do with him.

His contemporaries have high praise for his character as well.

He is the fastest human being to ever walk planet earth, and its not really close. And he's not a jackass. So hell yeah I root for him.

He is just trying to win. Bolt is past his prime and he is not ever going to break 19.19 again.

I like watching him run because he is so fast.

But I would also like to see somebody beat him because that guy would be faster and that is insane.

I hope he tries to break the world record in the 200m
