Agree to disagree. People forget how dominant Shaq and Barkley were. Ewing yeah, I could put him above Ewing...not Shaq and Barkley

I'm ok with putting Shaq in front of Duncan. But Barkley? No way.

Yes, emphatically so. Shaq was at times more brilliant, but Duncan was rock solid for like 16 years. Gimme the consistency.

Just my 2 cents. I'm sure plenty will disagree.

Born in '81, here's how I saw/see thangz:

1 Jordan
2 Lebron
3 Magic
4 Olajuwon
5 Bird
6 Duncan
7 Shaq
8 Kobe
9 Barkley
10 Durant

Durant will likely continue to climb the list.

I can't weigh in on: Oscar Roberson, Wilt, Kareem, Russell. Before my time.

Dude, Shaq had a per game average of over 20pts/10reb for 14 straight seasons

I have him at 8. Just ahead of Hakeem and Shaq

Definitely the greatest PF of all time

Dammit u and your facts. Is that true? Funny I don't remember it that way.

I've always been a Duncan guy. So I'm prolly not the most objective.

Likely, you are too young to remember his Orlando days. I pretty much dont remember them either that well

Russell
Hakeem
Duncan
Oscar
Kobe
Pippen
Stockton
Barkley

Off the top of my head this is my list from best on down with a limit of 15.

Duncan is my #10

That's due to shooting very poorly in the playoffs and getting beat in key matchups against other top post players

It's a good metric but not the end all. He's pretty close to top 10 PER (he's 13) and probably better than a few above him. Top All-Time PER:

1. Jordan
2. LeBron
3. Shaq
4. David Robinson
5. Wilt
6. Chris Paul
7. Bob Petit
8. Durant
9. Neil Johnston
10. Charles Barkley
11. Kareem
12. Dwyane Wade
13. Tim Duncan
14. Magic Johnson
15. Karl Malone
16. Hakeem
17. Larry Bird
18. Russell Westbrook
19. Stephen Curry
20. Oscar Robertson

...

102. Bill Russell

Do David Robinson, Chris Paul, Bob Petit, Kevin Durant, Neil Johnston, Charles Barkley, and Dwyane Wade rank above Tim Duncan as all time players? Just using PER would suggest yes. Pretty good argument that he is better than a handful of guys above him on the PER list.

Of course there is also an argument that there are a few guys below him on the PER list that are better than him (Magic? Bird? Hakeem? Robertson?).

Kobe isn't top 10 in PER either.

Take their 5 best seasons and average them out. Shaq's is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm not saying this is you but it seems like most people who don't think Duncan is top 10 also happen to be Kobetards.

Right - he is 23. Neither are:

Kareem (11)
Magic (14)
Hakeem (16)
Bird (17)
Oscar (20)
Bill Russell (102! Right behind Al Horford)
