imagine TMZ on jordan's arse every day, noting all the shite he did in his personal life.

You also have to consider with higher scrutiny comes better behavior.

Jordan knew he was king of the athletic world and could do no wrong.

Never in a million years will Lebron have the defensive talent and tenacity that Jordan had throughout most of his NBA career.

I don't think it is talent that separates the two, I think it is Jordan's unwavering competitiveness and will to win no matter what that separates him from the pack. However, in today's media/social media world, this may have made Jordan unlikable if he were playing today. In his day, the Nike machine and the NBA almost exclusively showed us the positive side of Jordan's demeanor.

If Lebron, or even Shaq, had the same internal drive and determination Jordan had, they would likely be ahead of Jordan in the greatest player ever conversation because they are both physically much more dominant than Jordan ever could have been.

how many power forwards in the history of the game could shut down d rose on the perimeter? in today's NBA no less

Small Forward shutting down a PG on a team with no other scorers.. weak sauce. Weird you never see him playing shutdown D on someone his own size.

even after jordan was exposed in the early 90s he came back and was still the same a-hole/crazy person

he can't shut it off. it's what makes him who he is. kobe is similar in that regard

lebron is like magic. he's insanely competitive and works hard at his game like jordan/kobe, but they have found a middle road where they can be decent people outside of basketball (although i'm sure lebron has weaker orgies than magic)

can anyone give me a possible average stat line for Jordan if he played in this finesse league that LeBron is able to play?

This is a comparison to Michael fricking Jordan, not the rest of the NBA.

Antwan Jamison was the PF on that Cavs team. He wasn't the PF, he's too big of a pussy to bang with the bigs play in play out.

I wasn't addressing the media machine part of this thread, just the fact of why LeBron will not sniff Michael in on the court accomplishments

Marketing doesn't mean a whole lot if you're a bum (unless it's some motor sport) - maybe just maybe Jordan was insanely popular because we watched him excel every year and not shrink from the challenge (ahem) - he was in the Finals of the booming 90's NBA every year and won it every year he was in the Finals. His play almost exceeded his marketing/hype...no one else has done that.
