Did anyone notice Temple went for 2 to cover the spread?

The DB that had the pick 6 also looked back at the coaches before going in for the score. I think there was some betting going on from the Temple coaches.

Why go for 2, at that point in the game 12 is the same as 13. Also, why would the DB get to the 2 or 3 yrd line then look back at the coaches? Something stinks at Temple and it isn't Bill Cosby's fingers.

I had Temple -12.5 so the 2 pt conversion is what did the trick for me.

My wife couldn't figure out why I was cheering when they decided to go for 2.

How much time was left? If it's late in the fourth quarter Temple might be better off downing it on the 1, kneeling three times, and kicking a FG to go up 9. If he goes into the end zone they have to give the ball back.

Not really two TD and Temple was having trouble with Davis and the SMU D acted like they knew how to play and stopped Temple a couple times.

The weird thing to me was not sticking to top TB they kept switching them.

After the kick return I came to grips with the loss. Got lucky as hell.

Temple was up by 13 and the DB looked back only once he was inside the 5 and there was only 1 minute on the clock, why wouldn't you score to go up by 20?

You have to pick two extra points to beat a 13. It's the right move, Albeit one coaches don't bother doing.
The correct move on the interception is to go down, but wide margins will help temple

That game stunk, there was definitely funny business going on. SMU down 5 no timeouts, Temple has 3rd and 14 so a 1st down ices the game bc there was only 1:40 left or so. QB takes it to the house (with some SMU defenders barely making an effort to chase him). Up 11 (that's a FG and a TD &2pt conversion). Why would you go for 2? Makes ZERO sense unless you have a betting interest. The pick 6 was just icing on the cake.

Ah, OK. I misread the OP--I thought going for 2 put them up 13.

Um, no. The difference between 12 and 13 isn't why that was a bad decision, it's the difference between 12 and 11...with 11 a TD and long field goal can tie you.

Temple's coach doesn't look like he messes around. The kid probably started remembering he had been told to take a knee if he gets the ball in that situation and was like "damn I'm gonna get my arse chewed, well I'll look back at coach and that'll cover me"

how many times does the average college football player get a pick 6? it's hard to be mad at the kid for scoring and being able to tell the girls he scored...

Temple made a kid do up/downs after scoring. It may have been second strangest thing I had ever seen.

The strangest was SIU coaches throwing punches on sidelines.
