That and the reluctance to take one in the draft one more than once every 3 or 4 years.

Colleges recruit 1 or 2 guys at the position every year for a reason.

These are good points. I also think that the NFL is actually still really hard for QBs. It's easy to have a huge game every once in a while, but now the expectation to throw for 300 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 or few INTS is almost impossible for most QBs to do on a weekly basis. Only the truly elite can do it. I believe that the success of the elite QBs in the NFL has made every team try to run their offense that way. Then we see a bunch of teams who are "just a QB away." It's like saying you're only missing Boardwalk in McDonald's Monopoly.

Blows my mind how the NFL can't find more than maybe 10-15 competent QB's.

And it's why Fameis Jameis is going to win ROY.

Everything about that article is accurate, yet it still is unreal how much football people still watch.

Thats because guys who gets jobs are trying to keep making $4mill/year. They like their job, and as long as they are winning, they can keep their job. They dont care about putting kids in the NFL to be successful, they just want to keep their jobs.

Agreed. This season has blown.

The only redeeming quality for me is seeing Alabama players do well.

The amount of flags and the shite they are calling roughing nowadays has significantly decreased my interest in the NFL. I used to watch games all day Sunday. Now I only watch Steelers games and sometimes the Browns if they are in derp mode.

The flags. The fricking flags. My God, the flags
it begins and ends here

I saw andy Dalton get absolutely drilled. It was a clean, legal hit, my excitement gave way within a tenth of a second to "wait are they going to flag it" right there the joy is dead, but to add insult to injury and damn well make sure I don't enjoy it upon reflection, they do flag it

same goes for the Brandon browner hit...you don't see it as often, when you do it is flagged, football doesn't totally suck yet, but it's on its way.

My time spent watching it and discussing it is way down, which is also a sad reflection upon me.

Fact it's been pretty awful.

But the NFL is pretty awful.

However, the possibility for America's Super Bowl (Dallas vs. New England) makes it a pretty decent season if that happens.

I would hate for that arse Jerry Jones to have a team in the Super Bowl.

Deadspin has gone from funny to insanely annoying/bitchy with a quickness.
