Maybe he can give himself one last injection to finish his last 2 months on a high note.
I can't wait to see Red Sox nation cry when he gets left out of the hall because BBWA blackballs him just like Bonds, Clemens, McGwire, etc. over PED use.
They think a double standard should be applied to David OrPEDz because he is "a lovable" character.
So let me get this straight.
You leave out Barry Bonds, who has far better career numbers than Ortiz, because of PED use.
But you let in Ortiz, who has worse numbers than Bonds and didn't even play a position, even though he has PED use.
Won't work that way.

You're a terrible poster overall, but your baseball posting might be the absolute worst category

Then please explain why Ortiz should be in the hall while Bonds and Clemens are left out.

Did I say that he should?

I am not even going to address your ignorant Bonds/Ortiz/PED rant.
The last two weeks he's in a slump. What are the rest of his numbers for the other 14 weeks?

Because you know I am right.
The way Bonds, AROD and Clemens get treated vs. David Ortiz is a giant double standard.

I bet this sounded really clever in your head.

I do agree that there is a double standard with some PED users, like Bonds vs. Ortiz. And Bonds should clearly in the hall.
Now the rest of the post from the title to the acting like 2 weeks of batting average means anything had me cringing.

Big Papi should 100% be in the Hall of Fame, and so should Bonds, Clemens, Sosa, etc. It's a fricking shame that they aren't. I couldn't care less if they took steroids.

You want to prove that, sport? You say that like you've got proof. He did fail a single drug test 13 years ago before most of these supplements were illegal, yet his power numbers this year are better than or equal to his stats during the steroid era. He hasn't tested positive during the past 13 seasons and has been consistently hitting 30+ HRs and 100+ RBIs. That must drive you batshit insane.
Look at people like Clemons and Bonds who's careers suddenly and inexplicably skyrocketed when the should have been well past their prime. Is that what you think is happening right now? Do you think Ortiz has been juicing the past three years?

I personally think that Ortiz has juiced and may continue to be getting a boost but I cannot prove anything unless he tests positive again. Of course, that positive was also under seal and that is only leaked information.

Ortiz is the epitome of the media double standard when it comes to baseball players and PEDs.
The way that the media and fans alike completely ignore his failed test from 2003, it's almost as if the Mitchell Report revelation never happened.
The Mitchell Report aside, his career arc is extremely questionable if you look at it objectively. He hit a grand total of 58 homers in his entire 6 year stint with the Twins, who ended up releasing him after the 2002 season. After that, he proceeded to become one of the best hitters in baseball and averaged 35 home runs a year (despite never having hit more than 20 in Minnesota) and over 100 RBI a year (despite never having batted in more than 75 in Minnesota and only breaking 50 twice in his time there).

Why haven't you been banned from life yet ?

I am a Yankee fan and I have always had a soft spot for Ortiz and Varitek from the Red Sox. I feel the same way about his PED use but I wish I didn't unlike a lot of the guys linked. The media double standard is also on the money because he is so damn likeable you tend to ignore that he failed a test. It reminds me of Pettite although I do believe that he was doing it more for an injury than guys like ARod and Clemens.

Even if you take the steroids and DH issues out of the equation, Ortiz is a borderline HOFer at best. There are 146 MLB position players in the HOF. Ortiz is 155th all-time among position players in career WAR. Since there's no really no precedent for an exclusive DH making the HOF, I'm going to compare his numbers against HOF 1B. There are 19 ML 1B in the HOF. Ortiz is 27th all-time among 1B in WAR. Among those 19 HOF 1B, only four of them have a lower career WAR than Ortiz and two of them were Frankie Frisch veteran committee picks. And if you look at 1B in the last 25 years, Todd Helton, Will Clark and John Olerud have higher career WAR than him. All three of those guys were excellent defensive first basemen and were damn good hitters as well. What makes Ortiz a more deserving candidate than them?

The three World Series rings, including ending probably the most talked about championship drought in MLB history.
