Maybin is better than Correa at this point. Correa can barely hit the ball Out of the IF. I would just let him rehab a while longer. He has zero power and likely won't get it back this season. Sad that he did it to himself.
If you're not going to watch the games... don't try to comment.
Correa has hit the ball solid on many of his ABs -- they've just been right at the outfielders. His last AB last night was a laser to RF.
Don't go back to being overly-dramatic Hyperbole-Ryno. Would be nice if the Ryno-Fan in you would finally kick the shite out of the Ryno-Troll in you.

The way Beltran hits so poorly against lefties (.506 OPS ), I'd be willing to bet a healthy Gattis DHs against them.

How much are you paying? It's over before we start having to dish out the real money

I'd rather gattis vs both. Beltran is very meh and that's being nice about it. What are they going to do with gattis next year is the question. I think in a perfect world they would want him to dh full time/backup catcher, but with McCains age he need more days off than a younger starting catcher and it's a fact at this point gattis will get hurt if he catches to much.

Hearing that Gattis will likely miss the playoffs with a hangnail

Yep. I tried to make this point when I said we should just put a claim on him on the waiver wire. In fact i believe and still believe that in the long term with lost ticket and merchandise sales NOT taking on his salary would decrease revenues and also cause our current stars with impending free agency to look hard at going elsewhere (it would reinforce that our management doesn't care about winning and only the bottom line). If we get to a World Series in the next three years via ticket sales and jersey sales verlander will make up what we are paying him.

This win streak couldn't have come at a better time given the Indians current win streak. Looks like the AL lead will be 2.5 games after tonight. Have to keep pressing or these bastards will catch us, but one can't help but wonder if this is a good sign of the Indians blowing their wad before postseason, which would be great.

They have to start losing soon. When was the last time you heard of a 20 game winning streak in baseball? A team can only stay hot for so long (see Astros, May-July)

Will DATers, you guys think that Maybin is, dare I say, the better waiver wire addition than Verlander is?

I'm. Praying for Correa. Not. For my sake but for his own.

What's scary about the Indians is that they are doing this without 6 of their best players. 3 all stars in Michael Brantley, Jason Kipnis and Andrew Miller haven't even played in any of these 15 wins. They are doing this with a bunch of young kids that have been called up recently. The Tribe is actually loving this as they don't have to rush these guys back. One other thing...all of these wins have come on the road!! The Indians have played the most road games in all of MLB. The Indians finish the season with 16/22 games at home including the Tigers and White Sox who both are in free fall. I wouldn't count on the Indians losing too many from here on out. The pitching for the Indians is excellent. Remember, the Indians got to the World Series last year despite having 2 starters miss the entire post season. The pitching rotation for the Tribe is absolutely dominating teams right now. I love what the Astros are doing, but I do think the Tribe will eventually take the #1 spot from Houston.
EDIT: I do see the Tribe losing a game in this next series against Baltimore though. The Oriels are playing for the playoff lives right now. So I could see the Tribe's streak coming to an end in this next series.

A week and a half ago it was Boston who was going to take the top spot. Winning streaks come to an end and by all means don't rush those guys back...please ensure they have no time to get their timing back before the playoffs.

Even after the Indians road winning streak, the Astros still have a better road winning %.
