Yeah I didn't mean to imply that I was of the opinion that Miggy isn't an incredible player, because he is and anybody would love him on their team

But it ain't even a FA signing. We'd be trading so many assets and not filling our greatest need. If you're willing to empty the farm or trade part of our core then it's gotta be for Sale or Archer

If they take on a lot of his deal I don't think it would cost as many prospects as you're thinking

I mean wtf

There has to be some truth to this because it's so fricking bizarre that nobody would make it up out of nowhere, right?

Yeah that's a good point. I just do not envision making a big trade for a power bat and then following it up with another big trade for a starter

I'm also running on fumes after pulling an all nighter so not thinking 100% clear

Idk. There was an article yesterday where Luhnow said his focus was probably going to be on free agents rather than trades because he wanted to keep this group together.

quote:

“I really think we want to keep this group together and use other resources,” Luhnow said of the possibility of dealing from the Astros’ prospects to bolster the major league roster.

Congrats on a great run by the Cubs. Was the best World Series I've watched in a loooong time.

Y'all better give us a hell of a good deal if you're going to take Migggy.

Yeah, I mean how many prospects would we have to give up for the full $200m remaining? I mean obviously they aren't going to give him up for nothing.

why is that funny?

dude hit .262/.292/.385

He'll be 33. That is pathetic for a guy trying to play a corner INF or OF spot

He obviously didn't come out tearing the cover of the ball but he definitely showed some stuff that could be reason for optimism moving forward.

130 at bats isn't enough to completely write him off though

He actually hit .338/.360 4 doubles 3HR 9RBI through 21 games. Then .169 through the following 15 games. Still...36 games is hardly enough to say he's great or he's terrible.

The return for miggy or McCann would be interesting. I would assume the package starts with one of the top arms and Tucker for miggy and one of those guys + 1 or 2 mid level prospects for mccannn

Well, they finally wised up and played him at 1B some. My hope is Reed motivates himself and comes back with the right mindset to take over 1B permanently. You're not taking Bregs glove off 3B and putting Yuli in LF. I think Yuli is 1B/DH platoon.

He isn't ready.

you gotta hit to DH, play 1B or LF. Plus you can play a 5'11" guy at 1B more than a spot start or so

Pretty sure I made my opinion clear when they signed him. Not a big fan.
