Seems to me that a proper adjustment to make to help pitchers might be move back and elongate the Crawford Boxes. It may seem like blasphemy but you would improve the overall seating with less of a short porch that way.

my all time Astros C-Biggio ( he was a better 2b but the #2 2b is better that #2 catcher) 1b Bags 2b-Morgan 3b-Cam ( but Metzger was great) ss Thon ( what could have been) OF Cruz , Cedeno , Berkman P- J.R. Richard RP- Sambito ( cause dude had great hair)

I can agree with this.

Almost every major league park is over 400 in center. Hell most parks for 15 years old and older are over 400.

Rosenthal on Twitter:

Sources: The #Astros, as they continue their search for a starting pitcher, have remained in contact with the #Athletics on Sonny Gray.

We are not desperate for another SP. Don't do something desperate.

I respectfully disagree. We aren't winning anything unless we have a major upgrade from our rotation last year. I guess that could include Keuchel reverting back to 2015 form but that doesn't seem likely

I agree that we shouldn't be desperate but I'm pretty confident if we don't make a move before the season and we are in the playoff picture come July, we will be dealing for an arm

I should have clarified. Don't give up a valuable package of prospects for a Sonny Gray. Desperation as in overpaying.

Yep. I was disappointed the Astros didn't make a push for Ross. double-disappointed that he went to the Rangers. If Ross can get healthy then the Ranger's will have a stellar rotation.

I think this whole Sonny Gray thing is just Luhnow positioning for one final push for Quintana.

Anyone else see Mr. Colin McHugh's tweets about Trump? He didn't get "too far" out in left field... but I truly wish athletes and entertainment stars would just keep their political opinions to themselves.

McHugh Calls out trump

quote:

As someone who lives in (Lewis's) 5th district, I don't think #DJT has any idea what he's talking about," McHugh tweeted. "And then doubling down by insulting the civil rights hero on #MLK wknd...wow #classy."

McHugh later added that he wasn't anti-Trump, but is "anti-bullying and pro respect."

He's an athlete, so i'll consider his political opinion about as much as a random neighbor or dude on the street.

But this...

quote:

and pro respect.

I tend to believe is bullshite when there is obviously no reciprocation.

Yeah if I chose my favorite athletes and entertainers on their political views I wouldn't have any. Most of them suck as far as that stuff goes

Yeah, that's not Sonny Gray. I guess my point is being lost. Oh, well.

Bregman tweeted the above at someone after saying Trump should delete his Twitter. Bregman's dad Sam is (or was) the Chairman of the New Mexico Democratic party so I guess it's not surprising Bregs isn't a Trump fan.
