Were you hoping for the cycle?
“Yeah, absolutely, yeah.”
Disappointing you didn’t get it?
“No, I walked. That’s kind of more rare"

Ole Folty is doing his strikeout thing for the Braves. 7 strikeouts in 4 straight games. Although those haven't all been great games. Kind of funny....Gattis goes 3-4 a double short of the cycle and on the same day Folty goes 7.2 3H 1ER 1BB 7SO

You guys think McCullers stays up for his next start? Haven't seen anything reported about that... TIA

Oberholtzer nearing rehab start; Fields back soon

Astros left-handed starter Brett Oberholtzer threw a bullpen on Thursday and felt fine, and will throw a live batting practice in Fresno before a rehab start.

His spot is due up again Friday, I don't think Obie could make a rehab start and be ready by then. With the off day Thursday I guess they could skip it, go back to Fausto, and bring Obie back a few days later assuming his start at Fresno is early this week. But I think they just stick with McCullers Friday.

We'll see how LMJ handles the pressure of the next start. He knows it will tell the tale on whether he stays up or not.

Looking forward, all of the teams on our schedule for the next month are currently sitting below .500

Orioles (19-22)
White Sox (19-22)
Orioles
Blue Jays (20-26)
White Sox
Mariners (20-23)
Rockies (16-25)
Mariners

This is a portion of the schedule we need to play well through. Before they White Sox come to Houston, they'll play a double header the day before against Baltimore and won't have had an off day in 2 weeks.

Outside of the Royals and Tigers, I don't see any AL teams that remotely scare YFPHAs. Teams like the Twins and Yankees have started well, but I'm not buying either.

Ehh I'm just looking at that and thinking we're a competing team and near the middle of the season we're getting a 1 month stretch of teams sitting below .500 after nearly 2 months of play. That's something we need to take advantage of to put some space between ourselves and the other teams. How we play in this stretch against mediocre to bad teams could really set the tone for the rest of the season.

How did that happen? The Astros play Baltimore Wednesday and the White Sox are in Houston Friday, right?

I hear ya. I just think this team can actually play better, piece for piece. I expect them to do so. Plus, the added pieces coming soon. It's pretty awesome.

They're making up the 2 games that were postponed during the riots in Baltimore. It was scheduled to be an off day for both teams.

If we go 5 or 6 over .500 in June it's lights out.
