Oh Jesus Christ. Can we not get someone from the real bullpen?

Wow. Time for an epic bat flip.
Eta: props to this ump. He's called a consistent and accurate zone all night.

I knew Hoyt could do it. Thanks Hinch

Guduan, Martes, Hoyt. Literally the dingle berries on our bullpens butthole. Hunch let the garbage walk us into a tie game.

We play like 13 straight days to finish the season. No point in even remotely risking overusing our pen

If we have to beat BOS to keep home field with the way Hinch managed with no urgency for so long, we might as well hang up the cleats
They will have won the ALDS before it even begins

Agreed. I have no issue with Hinch using these guys.
That said, I doubt he is surprised by the result. I'm certainly not.

Didn't we just hear AJ in that between innings interview say they were trying to win as many ball games as they can? And he chooses those losers to bridge the gap? None of those guys are dependable anymore. The only time they should pitch is in a 12-1 ballgame that we are losing and maybe in a 12-1 ballgame we are winning with 2 outs in the 9th.

We've still got things to play for. Wins mean something. Trying to get through games with your lesser bullpen arms is understandable. But with 2 outs and a lead there, I would have liked to see him go with one of his more reliable arms to try to get out of the inning with the lead.

doesn’t matter how hot or cold you are going into postseason, just have to play well when you get there.

I agree to an extent, but we got to the postseason, just need to play well when we get there.
Bring in a good reliever in the 5th and a shitty one will throw later.

That's what I'm saying. He just needed 1 out. Give a trust worthy reliever that high leverage situation and then go back to the shitty reliever plan with a clean inning.

Head scratcher. Abysmal loss.

That's the thing. Hinch tries to steal a couple of innings with the crappy bullpen arms. We lose the lead and because they can't close an umbrella we still have to use the quality guys.

Devo is all over the place.
Posted on 9/24/17 at 9:31 pm to Lsuhoohoo
If we have devo in that last inning we probably still have a 4-2 lead.

Hinch admitted he tried to save arms in Oakland the Fri night loss of that ill fated 4 game sweep
I would have liked to see him learn something from it.
I don't envy him managing these next 3 in TX then 4 in BOS given the situation of records, home field, and matchups when it comes to pitching
