just curious the package we gave up for ken, was it not good enough for aroldis? Or did we just want giles
Team control. Chapman is a free agent this offseason
They took a look/made a run at aroldis last year from what I remember lost out to the Dodgers and then he beat up his girlfriend.

Astros are two out of a wild card spot with the easiest remaining schedule of the teams chasing it.

hopefully baltimore falls apart, but even with how well mchugh is pitching, do you really want mchugh in a 1 game playoff at toronto vs randy johnson jr, 20 game winner JA happ???

If this team makes a wild card game with this rotation, Toronto can start 1990 Dave Stewart. I'll just be happy to be there.
Plus, we can just go bullpen by committee in that game no matter who starts. You have the quickest hook possible for that guy. Maybe Devo does what he did tonight. Maybe Neshek, Harris, Gregerson and Giles give you an inning each.

because you know Hinch won't hesitate to do it

Yeah, the Astros lead the majors in bullpen FIP and WAR (4th in ERA). There would no reason for the starter to go more than 3 or 4 innings in the wild card.

Astros have caught fire since becoming mathmatically eliminated. Too little too late.
