Missed last nights game but saw the box score. Richards really cut us down.

But verlander is the real deal

The more I look at the bp I am feeling a little better about the post season. By no means am I saying we have a lockdown bp...:but feeling better.

I feel fairly confident with(in order of most to least):

Giles
Harris
Devo

Now 3 guys isn't enough to win it all, but if it were me I'd put Morton in the bp. He can go multi innings and typically looks untouchable for 4 innings. You could throw him one or two innings almost every game with the days off or a long game if a starter faulters.

What we need: we need musgrove and liriano to step up for post season to have any chance: both guys have shown flashes so it's not a miracle for these guys to play well.

This post is just regarding bp and not our underperforming lineup.

I think that Musgrove has earned the right to be a 7th or 8th inning guy. Harris still doesn't seem quite right to me.

I called my shot in last night's thread....I think Fiers gives us 6 innings of gritty ball,
throwing 539 pitches, but allowing only 2 ER and keeping the team in the game. I feel like he is due to give the team" a pick me up" like what he did early in the season.

Hope is not a strategy. We need a 5 game win streak.

I have a lot more confidence in Musgrove than Liriano. Musgrove has been lights out in the pen since moving there. He's let up 4 earned runs in 26 innings

I think there are plenty of arms in the pen that are capable, on any given night, of shutting someone down.

Outside of Giles 1 IP last night, the entire pen has now had 2 days off to flush the Oakland series. Hopefully that bump in the road is in the rear view mirror.

With Alexandra daddario joining the bandwagon is it safe to say we have the best boobs in baseball?

Well this season just got much more interesting. I'm a BIG fan!

ETA: And when did Fiers get back in the rotation?

ETA2: Just read about Lance being scratched. F***!

I wonder of Clippard is pitching his way out of a post-season roster spot on a team overloaded with right handed set-up pitchers. He has given up runs in 5 of his last 6 appearances.

4.1 IP
9 H
9 ER
18.69 ERA

Usually it's a 5 man pen in the playoffs. With this shite show I don't know.

I think Giles, Devo, and Harris are mortal locks (assuming Harris is 100% healthy). Gregerson is close to a lock. His last 2 outings have been horseshite, but he had a long run of good outings before those 2. As many have posted on here, Gregerson is filthy or very hittable....there is no in-between. Musgrove has to also be close to a lock based on his body of work since August 1....3 ER in 23 IP (1.17 ERA). He has given up runs in only 2 of 15 appearances in that stretch.

So what becomes of Clippard, Martes, Liriano, Feliz, and Sipp? Do they add a lefty just for the sake of having one, even though both suck? Peacock has to make it since he can be a swing guy.

Giles Devo Harris Musgrove and Peacock are locks IMO. Verlander Keuchel locks for the rotation. That leaves 4 or 5 spots (2 needing to be starters most likely) for the JAGs that make up the rest of our staff

If McCullers is healthy he is a lock for the rotation

I know this has probably been talked about before, but what level on PlayStation tv do you have to buy to get Astros?

Shane, I think you can add Morton in as a lock. He's been solid pretty much all year. I think it's him or peacock as a starter if McCullers doesn't come back healthy with the other in the bullpen.

I guess it will all depend on McCullers and Mchugh and how healthy/effective they are down the stretch.
