I think that Abreu can be quite good quite soon.

Well, these long paternity leaves aren't for nothing.

He's obviously been carrying extra weight for months

What OF spot does Soto take in San Diego? Maybe we could try and get Grisham as Padres might want to start retooling their farm?

Is he good? Looking at his stats, he seems not good.

Willing to give Dirden a shot at this point. MYERS IS a steaming pile right now his arm may never be the same.

Meyers has had some significant derps in the outfield that have directly contributed to a few losses. His arm may recover over time but it may not. But his hitting or lack thereof right now, coupled with that shaky defense and no arm, is a bad trend. And if he doesn’t come around with more offensive production then he’ll be nothing more than a pinch runner in postseason.

What’s his contract status? Has he already declined to go to the Nats? He’s part of the Soto deal unless he refuses to go to Washington. There are other versions of the Soto trade to SD if Hosmer refuses.

He’s got 3 years 13 mil per left

They’ve already completed the deal without Hosmer. Padres are going to move him to someone not on the no trade list. If he had more power I’d want them to think about it, but not enough slug for me

Would want them to think about it assuming Padres eat some money and don’t ask for much in return with prospects. They really have no leverage with how blatantly they just want to get rid of him

I actually wouldn't mind him if he only had next year left at that price. Really not interested in having Hhim around 3 more years

If the Padres ate half of his salary the final 3 years of the deal, would you take him?

Choi is a really good platoon guy but I think like Hosmer we don't really need a 1B now since Mancini would be best there.
