Well the bats listened to my cry for help yesterday with a big start. They cooled down a bit after the 4th, but it was encouraging to see the bullpen slamming the door shut to save the win!!

The boys are back in the Juice Box tonight after a forgettable road series. Chuck Salt is on the bump tonight. He'll be facing Taijuan Walker, who's had some decent starts against us as a Mariner. That ends tonight!

And the best part of all of this....I'm batting 1.000 as a thread starter. But a wise man once said, "Don't get too cocky, kid"

The names are being put in the hat to pull from and create the lineup as we speak.

MLBN radio is actually calling out the marketing department/tv networks. The Dodgers and Astros are on national broadcasts a combined one time (which actually is the stros) the rest of the season

Astros v Nats needs to be on national tv. That's a playoff level type of series.

Only move them to national TV if Nitkowski can do all the games.

Because that's the best!

I don't want any more exposure of this team and it's bad pitching and bad news bears baserunning and defense. The less people know the better.

You really need to be the Yankees, Red Sox, or Cubs to be on national broadcasts very often.

Yep broadcasting a team locked in a divisional battle with the Milwaukee Brewers is exposure to the best there is in baseball and a tremendous way to grow the sport

Frankly the main thing I got from the segment which was shocking is that there is a major market team in the LA Dodgers 50 games over .500 and is on national tv 0 times while the Mets are on national tv twice

Will make perfect sense once Tebow is promoted to the bigs.

Yes....and this pisses me off come playoff time. You can bet your arse that whoever wins the AL East between the Yankees and Red Sox will get the prime-time slots and the Astros will get their share of afternoon games in the middle of the week.

I can't tell you how many Astros playoff games that I didn't get to see back in the Killer B era because they were at noon on a weekday, while we continually had the Mets, Yankees, and Red Sox shoved up our arse and through our throat in the nighttime slot.

It is honestly the reason why I follow very little baseball besides the Astros. I got so sick and tired of seeing Yankees-Red Sox on my TV that I got to the point where I just quit watching.

End rant.

Yes, I sho is mad.

I'm not disagreeing with you but if the season ended today it would be a rematch of the ALCS in the first round. Even if the Astros were to play the Yankees it'd be hard to beat the rematch.

@jonmorosi
#Tigers and #Astros have talked enough about Verlander that each side has a good understanding of the other's position, source says. (1/2)

@jonmorosi
While no deal is close, circumstances are such that one phone call could create momentum rapidly, closer to Aug. 31 roster deadline. @MLB
