Id be shocked if the marlins do that. If it's on the table we better take it. Yelich has a sweet stroke

don't think that's remotely on the table. unless Houston wants to give someone away there won't be a deal

Yeah it would have to involve at least one of their highly rated prospects to be realistic

For the sake of wild discussion

If you're Dan Jennings and Jeff Luhnow offers you Jarred Cosart, Chris Carter, Mark Appel, Rio Ruiz and Lance McCullers for Giancarlo Stanton. Do you pull the trigger? Would you do that if you're Luhnow in exchange for 3+ seasons of Stanton?

That's tough. I think throw in Yelich and at least 2015, 2016 and 2017 of Stanton and I pull the trigger on that deal.

NOWAY do you do that deal if you Miami. Stanton is a mega star, young and not even in his prime yet.none of those other guys are sure things. they ain't trading stanton without getting back a springer or a correa

If you believe the leaked trade discussions, the Marlins wanted BOTH of Correa and Springer. Two untouchables for the Astros. But I'm not even certain those 5 would be enough for the Marlins.

Obviously this isn't on the table. The Marlins are somewhat in the hunt and would get crucified for shipping off Stanton at this point.

Geez

Cosart and Carter are replaceable. The other 3 have high upsides but if 2/3 are as good as they can be, you're lucky.

I'd have to do it.

Altuve 2B
Fowler CF
Springer LF
Stanton RF
Singleton 1B
Castro C
Correa SS
Dominguez 3B

Yeah I don't think the marlins would do it. Getting Stanton without giving up Correa or Springer would be a huge win. It would hurt the depth the ceiling on most of those guys isn't terribly high

Yeah no way I'm doing any deal that involves Springer. The guy looks like a future star.

It would have to be a hell of a player to consider Correa.

Only way I would deal either one would be for a young guy like Stanton with a long term deal already in place.

I wouldn't give up any of my few good bats at this point. Houston needs to add offense. Stanton is a pipe dream

I'm just spitballing on Stanton, all of us realize it's not happening but it's interesting to discuss after those emails were leaked

I would consider a deal to a team who needs serious pitching help that included Folty, Cosart (or McHugh/orFeldman) and Carter for some ML ready offensive help.

you would have to look at teams that are deep with young talented OF or corner IF and need Pitching Help. not sure who those teams are aside from Oak and St. Louis and they already made their moves.
