At birth, Alex Bregman was touched by the Baseball Gods. He is not very big, not very fast, not especially graceful, and yet he somehow finds a way to do everything you can ask of a baseball player. He turned an unassisted triple play at age four. He was already very clearly the best high-school baseball player in the history of New Mexico before his senior year when a bad hop broke a finger on his right hand, ended his season, and irreparably harmed his 2012 draft stock.

Really starting to hope we stand pat. None of the guys who would be major upgrades would come at prices that could even remotely be considered reasonable.

Ed: regarding starting pitching that is.

I tend to agree. I'd still like a lefty reliever of some sort.

Give Musgrove/Rodgers a chance in Sept and move Hoyt into the bullpen.

I don't see us winning a playoff series with the current rotation but you are correct archer or quintana would be high cost. Perhaps they go for a cashner type but that doesn't help a ton.

We won't have to see 105mph. The deal is final Chapman to chicago.

They gave up their #1 and 5 prospect for half a season with chapman. There was some others involved as well. That's a steep price.

Yeah but what if Go Go's 200% swing actually made contact with that 105 mph fastball.

If the Phillies are selling VV, that tells you they think he'll break.
