If we win tonight we'll have a .500 record on the road, which is nothing short of amazing after a 33-48 record last year.

Time to start a new winning streak!

Yeah these late games make it impossible for me to watch while working days. Was able to catch pieces of the day games over the weekend and though not perfect, we still won the series.

Ready for Bregman

Looking to the future a bit, that Blue Jays/Rangers home stand is going to be huge.

If we keep winning series' and they keep trending down, that could be the weekend we flip the division.

Might have to make it to Houston for that Rangers weekend.

We need to make as much headway in August as possible because we start September with:

3 @ Texas
4 @ Cleveland
3 vs. Cubs
3 vs. Texas

Apparently MLB Network is predicting that the Astros are going to be involved in a blockbuster to get someone like Sale or Gray.

I'm skeptical, and not sure if I want that.

ETA: The price for Sale would be astronomical, he's locked up until 2019.

as long as bergman isn't involved, I'll have an open mind about it.

I really don't see that happening, especially Sale. When you take out Bregman I don't think we have what is needed to get Sale. If we could get Sale by dealing prospects and keep Bregman I would all for it but I just don't see that happening or see the White Sox wanting to deal him that badly

Maybe Gray but I'm not as high on him as Sale

I think the White Sox are ready to face reality, but are they really ready to deal Sale? So interesting.

Funny Mariners broadcast quotes from Sunday on Gomez:

First AB: "I find it amazing that he hasn't gone on the DL just from swinging and missing."

Second AB: "Has the Astros' equipment manager considered finding him a chin strap?"

Two pitches before the GS: "There's basically no excuse for ever throwing this guy a fastball."

Immediately following the GS, quietly: "Give him credit - he's got the most swagger of any .200 hitter you've ever seen."

So since July 1, when AJ Reed got his first hit, his numbers look like this:

.261/.370/.522 14.8% BB 33% K

Hopefully he can continue to figure it out.

So the timeline for El Yuli is looking like Mid August by the time he gets his work visa dine and spends time at the facilities Florida and then goes to the minors.

Personally I'd like to get him to the majors a little earlier than that, even at the cost of him losing time in the minors. That brutal stretch in early September will likely define our season. I'd love to have Yuli settled in against major league pitching by then.

Anyone want to predict his stats? I'll settle for the average. +/- .300?

He should be a plus Saber metrics guy. He pretty much won all of the Saber metrics in cuba. No reason he won't rack up.more of them.

BA will be 269 with a low k rate. Next year will be a 280-290 hitter
