Vargas could be a good innings eater for the regular season, but I wouldn't be enthused about him starting a playoff game. And why trade for a starter at this point if you aren't getting someone you want to start in the playoffs?

We need warm bodies at this point.

Exactly. He's also a heavy fly ball pitcher which plays well to Kaufman but not to Minute Maid. Estrada is the same way.

To keep the two top guys' innings counts down.

Go for someone cheaper than Vargas then, because you would need to trade for two starters if you're doing that

One as an innings eater and one as another legit starter you would throw in a playoff series

He has overmatched Springer in 2 ABs

Made him stare at a 85 mph FB right down the middle on a 2-1 count, and swing wildly through 2 two strike breakers

Or you could spend a bit more and accomplish both. And Vargas might be that guy still. I just wouldn't be enthused compared to other names out there.

Don't forget the three starters on the DL currently.

He has... and he has been great this season, but historically he's a league average pitcher.

Hopefully it is a buyers' market with the number of guys that are on the shelf. I personally don't have as much interest in going after an elite TOR guy. I don't know enough to know if Vargas would be valued as such.

Btw what a horse shite effort by Reddick, that was embarrassing.

Reddick is a lazy frick w no sense of urgency in the OF

2 nights in a row he jogs to a ball in LF w a runner on 1st

Perez scores from first? Are you kidding me?

Two nights in a row, Reddick has been lazy in left field. He should be fined.

The ball rolls toward center when it hits the wall but he's lazy for trying to play it like that?

He didn't hustle for the ball like you want, and for the second straight night seemed to expect a bounce off the wall that doesn't come there.

If he doesn't sit for that, Hinch needs to do post game interviews the rest of the season with Giles doing sign behind him for the hearing impaired

I just rewound and watched again. It was abysmal. The ball was rolling 1 Mph when it hit the wall. Then he kind of just jogged to it off the rebound. Have no idea what he was doing there. It was a total cuck play and he needs to relinquish his belt.

Believe your eyes, my man.

You don't expect a bounce the whole way to the wall

Pure lack of effort

I rewinded it and rewatched

No excuse. None

You lose serious credibility if you actually view that a second time and have anything other than WTF to say about it

Believe your eyes watching this dude play for 60 games. Lack of hustle is an idiotic way to describe him, regardless of your opinion on one play.
