Disturbing trends: Bullpen has pitched a lot of innings

Encouraging trends: this team plays pissed off after losses and OUR ACE DALLAS KEUCHEL will right the ship tonight.

Dallas Keuchel makes Kershaw look like a long relief guy

Keuchel needs to go at least 7 tonight. Preferably the whole 9 so I don't have to see Giles' slider happy arse tonight

Not gonna lie I was afraid to start the thread this morning. Pretty sure I'm like 2-5 all time

That would be nice. And then hopefully a comfortable lead, although last night seemed fairly comfortable when I retired for the night.

Our bullpen has been bad the last several games/series. We might need to trade for a reliever

Harris and Devo should both be available tonight

Pro tip: improve your record by starting the DAT when Keuchel pitches the day after a loss.

Feliz as well. I still think he should start seeing more high-leverage innings.

It'd be a lot easier to feel bad for Ken Giles if his face weren't so punchable.

Keuchel is not an ace, guys. He took a year off

Need to trade for an innings eating hoss SP. 5hat will greatly shorten the pen and we won't have to run out guduan and hoyt in 8th innings very often.

I made this post last night after the blown save but it got buried on the bottom of a page so thought I'd repost

quote:

Giles has exceeded all of our expectations this year in save situations. You're lying if you say otherwise

Now...I'm not saying I feel 100% confident in him coming into close out a 1 run lead in game 7 in October...but there are not very many closers out there who you would. Wade Davis, Andrew Miller, Kenley Jansen...who else? Aroldis wasn't that great last year. Maybe Kimbrel?

Our bullpen will be fine. If this was a playoff game, we would've left Devo in. It's June, we can't use him for multiple innings in games we have a 5 run lead otherwise he would be so gassed by the playoffs

The frick?

Combined stats between NYY and CHC...

59 GP, 58 IP, 36 SV, 3 BS, 90K, 1.55 ERA, .862 WHIP, .158 BAA

He did look slightly mortal in the postseason thanks to a heavy workload (he pitched 15.2 innings in 13 postseason games), Joe Maddon inexplicably using him in game 6 of the World Series, and Rajai Davis, but still... that's a great season.

ETA: All of that said, there won't be many RPs available, if any, that would really make me feel comfortable with a 1-run lead in the postseason.

So dhav14, are you ready to post the DAT for the next 11 games? I hope so.

The Astros are 11-5 after a loss this year.

I feel good about tonight.

Fair enough... I still Maddon was dumb to use him up comfortably in game 6.

And it's the World Series... even Mariano Rivera proved mortal at least once.

Kelvin Herrera is arbitration eligible for 2018 and a FA for 2019, so he might be available.

Bomb served up to Yuli the other day aside, he's been really good the last three years.

I wouldn't mind at all seeing the Astros go after him and Vargas from KC. Both guys should be on the table.
