Yes but don't sign any good free agents!! Just wait for all our prospects to get here because they all will be stars and we will dominate.

Weren't you leading the charge to call up Preston Tucker? Then it was Domingo Santana.

no i wasn't leading the charge to call them up. I said if Tucker hit well at AAA its possible he could get called up by end of this season because our LF position is shite. I am advocate of keeping Santana down all year. you can't sign free agents mid year. They need to plug some big holes between now and next March or we are looking at another last place season. not all of those holes can be competently filled by the minors.

So, do all of the Astros night games start after 7:00 CST? I'm so used to driving home, eating the wonderful dinner my wife cooked, and then making my way to the living room and turning the TV from whatever Disney/Nick show my daughter left it on to the Braves game a little after 6:00. I was looking last night and then realized it was going to be after 7:00 for the first pitch.

If anyone is interested. Tomorrow the gates open at 10:30 and they are showing the USA-Germany game on the big screen

I posted about this in another DAT thread, but Luhnow commented about Santana during a radio interview last week that I caught. His wording made it sound like Santana may not be called up this year. He basically said something about how they see Santana making an impact next season. This was in response to a question specifically asking which young guys might be called up this year.

In contrast: In the same interview, he spoke about Buchanan being on the short list of guys to be called up next and he was actually called up a few days later after that interview. So it was made clear they expected him up sooner rather than later.

So just his wording and tone when speaking about Santana definitely made it sound like they don't expect Domingo up anytime soon this season, if at all.

All weeknight games start at 7:10.

I would bank on Santana being up at some point late this year barring some breakthrough with Presoesman (Grosshoesley?) in LF. None of that trio has made an impact to stake claim to the LF position. Center and Right are set with Dex and Springer but left is still a question mark and Santana could fill that role next year but I don't think they'll go into the year with a complete unknown in left. If he looks completely overmatched toward the end of this year I'd expect a free agent signing.

I agree with all of that. I would like to see him called up late to get at least a month of big league at bats. Especially if they expect him to be the guy in LF at the beginning of next season.
