I reject these series long DATS. We had 4 losses in our last 15 games, mess with success and start these series long DATs and boom we get 3 losses in 7 games to two of baseballs worst teams.

I second this. I just don't like having to scroll to find today's game.

I haven't like Bo since the beginning. He lost me when he didn't know that once you bring in a pitcher he has to face a batter. He's been around baseball long enough to know that. You can't blame it on 'rookie manager' mistake. And then Sunday. Smh.

Didn't the umpires mess that up as well?

speaking of striking out and looking at Ty Cobb's numbers, at the end of his career, when he was 39 in 1926, he had 273 plate appearances and only struck out 2 times!

That's insane. Ted Williams rarely struck out over 50 times in a season. His average 162 game season was .344 37 homers 130 RBI 50 strikeout/143 walks. In his career he walked 2021 times and struck out 709.

Babe Ruth lead the league in strikeouts 5 times, but his most in that category was 93. He lead the league in walks in 11 of his 22 seasons and walked over 100 times in 13 seasons.

I always wonder what it was about these old time sluggers where they never struck out. I've always held the opinion that advanced scouting plus more specialized pitchers led to a rise of the strikeout. The pitchers in Ruth and Williams days didn't have tons of video to go over with the pitching coach on where a guy's holes were in his swing or what pitches he's more likely to chase. Seems like most of those guys had a bulldog mentality where they were going to throw what they wanted to throw and if it gets hit out, so be it.

I don't think so. I think the score keeper had the lineup wrong which is what delayed the game.

I wouldn't blame the umpires though. They've probably never had an AL manager dumb enough to kill the DH.

A couple base knocks in he first inning.

Nice to see George start off with a single. He needs it after this weekend.

not the start we needed from Keuchel. Especially after being pretty mediocre against shitty teams last week.

The Nats play by play man is spouting off some serious non-sense.

Jon Singleton- 6HR 30RBI (its 4HR 10RBI)
Jon Villar- playing in his 9th straight game after being called up June 3rd.

ok.

Just turned the game on and see the score. What I miss? Was it a HR or just putting hits together?

I think pitchers didn't throw as hard back then, or have nearly the variety of pitches

Strung hits together. Zimmerman had an RBI double.

Denard Span slaps one off the plate (and I mean he literally hit it into the plate) and skied it for a single.

Rendon reaches for one just above the ground and puts it in the gap for a double.

DK left a fastball up for Zimmerman who picked up and RBI double.

My feed came back up a few minutes later.

Based loaded, no outs for Castro. We need these runs!

Edit: And Castro Ks. What a disappointment he has been. Dominguez with an infield single to score a run though. 4-1 bad guys
