In all the excitement, I just can't get over Carter. Is it just me or does he always look like he'd rather be anywhere except out there? The whole team is boiling with enthusiasm, and I don't think I've seen him get even relatively excited. Is it just his personality? Sheesh

That's his personality. He shows it sometimes he just isn't an overly enthused person, which is fine.

I'm pretty sure he had words after a called strike 3 today which was new. He normally just walks off with a blank look on his face.

What happened to the Cubs fans? They don't even start threads anymore and they have a pretty decent record. Krissiah is hitting .194 in his last 10 games.

Why do we talk about this? I knew we all would give up Appel to have this dude in out lineup, but we talk as if he's no big deal. I hate the Cubs but this dude is going to be a special player.

Let it go. Can you just enjoy the winning for 5 seconds without having to call someone out all the time. We going to the ship! Relax and enjoy

The Astros can probably win the division by going .500 the rest of the way.

Screw that. This isn't a .500 team. We are better. Need a couple of additions around the all star break to make us playoff ready.one of them is playing ss at corpus.

Right. They'd finish 11.. 12 to make it even.. games over .500

I don't think some people deserve not being called out. I'm cutting back because I think I've said enough, but one last twist of the knife.....I read this and thought of you...

Apparently Keith Law is still salty about the Astros interviewing and not hiring him.

Ken Hamilton ?@KenHamilton1955 4h4 hours ago
@keithlaw Thoughts on Astros now? ??

keithlaw ?@keithlaw 4h4 hours ago
@KenHamilton1955 same as three hours ago.

Ken Hamilton ?@KenHamilton1955 4h4 hours ago
@keithlaw You'll come around eventually. ??

keithlaw ?@keithlaw 4h4 hours ago
@KenHamilton1955 on what, exactly?

Ken Hamilton ?@KenHamilton1955 4h4 hours ago
@keithlaw Not thinking the Astros are for real.

keithlaw ?@keithlaw 4h4 hours ago
@KenHamilton1955 So they're going to win 100 games? 110?

Ken Hamilton ?@KenHamilton1955 4h4 hours ago
@keithlaw At this point I ain't gonna doubt 'em. ?? Seriously though, just playing .500 the rest of the way would be 86-87 wins.

keithlaw?@keithlaw
@KenHamilton1955 Except they're probably not a .500 team the rest of the way. I'm sure you remember how the 2005 Astros started.

Ken Hamilton ?@KenHamilton1955 3h3 hours ago
@keithlaw We shall see, sir. We shall see.

keithlaw ?@keithlaw 3h3 hours ago
@KenHamilton1955 I really don't see the point of asking me if my opinion has changed 72 hours later.

Ken Hamilton ?@KenHamilton1955 3h3 hours ago
@keithlaw #Hopeful ??

Sorry for the formatting. Ken Hamilton starts the convo, Law responds and then it goes back and forth.

I agree. We have a 10 game streak going. So we should all continue to do the same things we did every day.

That said...

Pretty good article here

quote:

They're fourth in the Majors in runs thanks to an offense that's first in home runs, stolen bases and strikeouts and second in walks. The Astros are fifth in ERA and No. 1 in MLB.com's defensive efficiency rating

Just a fluke
