I’ll bite the bullet.

TLdR, Starters have been great, bullpen and hitting besides one game have sucked.

Let’s win a game

Astros starting pitching is the BEST in baseball.
1. Astros: 1.46 ERA
2. Royals: 1.74 ERA
3. Red Sox: 2.18 ERA

Astros have the 3rd WORST bullpen:
28. Astros: 7.41 ERA
29. Giants: 7.91 ERA
30. Phillies: 8.71 ERA

Just as things do over the course of a season, things will even out. Abreu Pressly Hader will go through a streak of being very dependable. Don’t know if we’ll ever really be able to rely on middle relief

I’m more concerned about the offense tbh

Early read is that we've got the same offensive problems as last year. Situational hitting is complete arse. It hasn't improved. RISP hitting is a consistent failure, getting runners home from 3rd with productive at bats hasn't materialized.

I'm not going to call for Espada's firing but I go back to the questions I had in the off season as to whether he was the right guy at the right time. The leadership structure was largely maintained by hiring him. So if complacency had developed, they're still probably operating the same way. It wasn't a new set of eyes to come in and light a fire under asses.

I said at the time, if you've been to 7 straight ALCS and 4 world series, do you really need a shake up vs just trying to maintain a good thing. Possibly not. But it appears the problems that existed, the failures that got us bounced from the post season are still problems and failures that haven't been solved

Saw the tweet from Will Kunkel. Was gonna post the same thing. The bullpen, and offense too, has been a catastrophic embarrassment outside of one game.

The flaws with this team are entirely from the composition of the roster and moves that have been made and have nothing to do with Espada IMO, the same way the success in 2021 and 22 had nothing to do with Dusty. It’s really just two moves at the moment - you are setting 30 million or so on fire with Abreu and Montero.

That, and when you are good for as long as we have been (and get draft picks taken too) the well of homegrown talent eventually dries up

Only simps think espada has any culpability in the outcomes for this team.
Huge mistakes by the "front office"

Lack of LH options is hurting this team badly offensively. Lopefido would be an upgrade to play some LF and 1b but crane and Co are mired in sunk cost fallacy

The idiocy of overpaying for closers is stupidity 101.

If OPs had simply referred to our ace as "Frambaw" we'd literally be 3-3 rn. I tried to save things by pointing this out early on both days, but no one listened.

Whoever starts DAT on Monday simply use his correct MSB name.

Especially a little guy like Hader who had chocked like a bitch frequently in big spots and now chocks regularly even in mundane spots.

frick off kid.

The word you are searching for is “choke”. And/or “choked”.

Use it in a sentence:

“I bet that guy talking about the correct usage of Frambaw regularly chokes on tranny dick.”

But the bigger thing is that previously and continuing so far this year, it raises its ugly head at home.

Why can we not win at home?

Why bring in Hader when Pressly could go only faced one batter.

I’m glad they took Framber out when I had a chance to get one more K for my bet. Now with the selfish reasons out the way….

The bull pen has been wet dog shite , so why would you take him out when he was dealing and hardly anyone had a hard hit against him.

Muh “early in the year not built up yet.” Seven starters threw 90+ pitches yesterday, Framber threw 85.

More worried about the offense. It’s been an issue for a year plus at home. Tired of the excuses. The background is what it is. The other team has to use it, too.

Apparently, the solution this year is to close the roof for all games, no matter how nice the weather is. They’re 1-5 in those games. What’s the next excuse?
