ahhhh. i got nothing. your schtick is old. you need to move on to something new. maybe you should bandwagon beat up on the Mets for a while, I think you'd be loved on their fan sites.
On some non-Ryno related Astros news...
Appel getting on track in AFL
So far he's thrown 9 scoreless. The link has a video of his last outing -- 18 pitch inning -- First batter walked. Second batter K looking. Third batter K looking. Fourth batter K looking.
Looks like he is hitting his spots. Location of pitches was a big problem he was having earlier in the year.

Decent article about which infield free agents are a good fit for the Astros this offseason.
Loved this quote on 2B:

Seriously, I'm not even going to discuss 2B free agents. Jose Altuve is the next Ty Cobb, minus the drunkenness, murder, racism, and height.

Posting this here but probably deserves it's own thread.
Ken Caminiti was one of my all-time favorite ball players. I'm a life-long Astros fan, but I found myself watching a lot of Padres games when he was traded to them.
Here is a great article about him -- his playing days, his private life, and his demons. Yes, it is Bleacher Report -- but it is truly a quality article about the first MLB player to go public with steroid usage.
It is long, but is a really good read.
One thing I learned is that Ken was buried on Craig Biggio's ranch under a 300 year old oak tree.

He was always known as an excellent teammate and loved by many who played and coached with him. The steroid and substance abuse is obviously sad in many ways, but on a lesser level it's tough because the style he played with is something young kids should try to emulate. I feel like many won't get to watch him or be encouraged to watch him because of his personal demons though

More on Appel being a Luhnow Draft Bust
Here's some video of his start yesterday. He looks terrible.
From the video:
I like seeing his slider dipping down to 83, that should be a great out pitch when following a 96 mph fastball.
From the article, he says that his command of his fastball keeps improving. That's just terrible news for a bust like him.
ETA: I think the article is incorrect -- I believe he has thrown 14 scoreless innings, not 12. He previously pitched 9 over 3 starts. His 4th start he pitched 5 innings.

Appel, the Astros' No. 2 prospect, hasn't allowed a run in his first three starts this fall, a streak of 12 innings. He has struck out 12 batters and held opponents to four hits and three walks.

looks like Tal's stupid Hill will be taking a victory lap in the 2015 and making its exit next off season.

quote:
The Astros have hired MSA Architects to start discussions about center field renovations. Here's what team president of business operations Reid Ryan told Drellich:
“It won't be this year. It would be after next year,” Ryan said of the potential facelift. “People talk about Tal's Hill. ‘Is Tal's Hill going away?' We're going to look at designs of, ‘What would that look like if we took it away?'”
quote:
“We’re going to keep evolving,” Ryan said. “That’s one of the things (owner Jim Crane) started with us from day one is: we’re moving forward. … We’re going to do something in the outfield. I don’t know what exactly that means yet: could be Tal’s Hill. It could be bullpens. It could be adding cabooses to the train. It could be adding something in center field of meaning. It could be putting in a Hall of Fame.
“Could we now go underground and could you put fans in the old bullpen the visitors were in (in left field), and do we move the other one to right field? We want something substantial where people go out and go, ‘Oh, It’s Minute Maid Park 2.0.’”

They said on 610 this morning that by the 10th they expect that the Rockets will be put on the TV schedule for Root Sports. This means a full season of Astros next year on TV (except for Dish Network, I believe).
