Can someone explain to me why you make a big trade for a switching hitting catcher only not to use him late in games when opponents use lefties out of the pen to stop Castro?

I think conger is pretty rough from the right side. The numbers may not be too different from Castro vs LHP. I think they liked him for his defense more than an alternative to Castro for situations like that

Well then, explain to me how "pitch framing" makes up for a mediocre hitter being a substandard defender behind the plate.
