So many times, Ponchatoula eschewed FGs in field goal range to try and get 1st downs/touchdowns. We did this 4 times and lost 28-20. We haven't been the same since, losing in the 1st round 2 years in a row.

Are we really comparing high school kickers to pro kickers with this?

That stretch to end the 2nd/open the 3rd (TD goes through Osby's hands/kick gets blocked/Osby hurt on KO return/INT that gets returned into our red zone) was eerily reminiscent of the Reynolds drop/Aiyuk miracle catch/Gibbs fumble/Reynolds 2nd drop/botched punt fielding for the Lions last night.

Did Ponchatoula have a kicker getting paid millions of dollars to make kicks like that and who had hit a 50+ yarder the week before?

He made a 54-yarder vs LA

Hindsight is always 20/20. It's easy for so-called pundits to sit back after the fact and criticize decisions that don't end favorably. Part of being the HC is living with those decisions after regardless of outcome. Personally, I feel CDC was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. He'd be raked over coals either way for losing.

I thought all the 4th down calls were fine.

I'd further and say he messed up by NOT going for it at the 1 or 2 at the end of the 1st half.

I think folks error in 2 ways in these discussion:

- When going on 4th and missing, it is always assumed you 100% would have made the FG when folks say "just take the points." If it's a 25 yard chip shot, sure. But not a 45+ yard FG
- Also, folks never do the same but the opposite. When they kick that FG at the end lf the half, people just see that they "took the points" and never rationalize that they also potentially gave up 4 additional points.

Josh Reynolds carries more of the blame than CDC.

Nah. The only truly indefensible call was the run at the goal line on the last drive.

All the other 3 supposedly controversial calls were essentially analytics 50/50s. If just ONE less drop had happened, entire game might have been different.

They never do that when a team is leading. All decisions are great when a team is leading by two or three scores

I guarantee nobody rooting for Detroit was thinking they’d collapse, but funny things happen this time of year in road games when the whole crowd is hyped

No, but we had 2 straight attempts blocked so that may have had something to do with it.

Comparing a highschool coach to an NFL coach is kind of crazy

WTF, dude? I was watching the game with my son and told him twice how stupid I thought a couple of Campbell’s decisions were before they played out.

Brave? That doesn’t even make sense.
