Coghlan was a valuable and versatile (somewhat) piece for the Cubs last season. With Javier Baez likely playing almost every position on the diamond except catcher and first this season, Coghlan's playing time was likely to dwindle as Baez can play more positions defensively and much better than Coghlan.
I have much respect for him. I hope he does well in Oakland.
So long, sweet prince.

Weird, Brooks was playing point guard for the Bulls yesterday.

They must like what they are seeing from Baez in the outfield.
ETA- Hard to believe Cogs hit clean-up the majority of the 2nd half

Dirtiest player in baseball...
He also isn't good enough to deserve his own thread. This could have been posted in the Cubs thread.

Let's hope Aaron has learned the forward pass

He is calling attention to you saying "dirtiest".
He played dirty but not the dirtiest.

99% of MLB players slide that way.

That's just good hard nose baseball. Ain't nothing malicious about his slides

Also Chase Utley had the worst slide last year

This brooks guy looks like a project to say the least.

Jake Arrieta was a project once upon a time
Wish Coghlan the best he's going to be a good player for Oakland

Ok, he is in a dead heat with Utley.

I know no one cares about the Pirates on this board, but losing Kang down the stretch was absolutely devastating. There's no way they could have gotten past the Cubs in the WC game, but it really cratered any chance of catching St Louis.
Although I think the players and coaches were more angry at Joe Maddon in the aftermath for joking about Kang's injury post-game ("I heard he has plantar fasciitis"). Nice Joe, dude's got a destroyed knee.
