Guess we're tired of shortstops...get all the OF's now?

By the time I got into really analyzing what defense brings to the game i had long stopped caring about shane victorino, but I seem to remember him being pretty decent...well take note almora and learn what you can from him.

I dont know maybe because its been 108 years since the cubs won and 71 years since they been to the World Series. I just wouldn't get my hopes up Cub fans, how often do they break your heart?

I am happy about snagging the Flying Hawaiian. He used be a really good player, and I think he will be a valuable bench asset and team leader.

Sad about losing Cogs, but he was too good to be a fifth OF. I hope he has a great year in Oakland.

Theo said Thursday Coghlen trade is the last move they're making until the deadline. Barring Theo traderaping yet another team, I tend to believe him.
Schwarber and Soler will platoon LF with Heyward playing most his games in Right, except when Fowler gets a day off.
Maddon watched his team run out of gas this past season. He will make it a priority this season to get everyone what he thinks is plenty of rest.
With our versatility, I could see everyone in the outfield, infield and catchers getting at least 1 day off a week.

I'm not sure what's obnoxious about us discussing our favorite team with each other. But if you think it is, you might want to go elsewhere. We're obnoxious every year.

I've seen this story before. All this Cubs hype then they tank. Since their last World Series appearance in 1945, the Cubs have had back to back winning seasons just 9 times out of 69 tries. We all know it's different this time though. 76-86. It's coming.

I've never downvoted someone so emphatically in my life. In all seriousness though, as a lifelong Cubs fan, I am certainly aware of and have experienced their futility many times. However, this team looks and feels different than any Cubs team I can remember, including the 2003 club.

Ultimately as fans we have zero control over what actually happens on the field. All we can do is talk about, root for, and get excited about the possibilities of our team. Go Cubs Go

Well, you had 1985 after the choke in the 84 NLCS. All the preseason hype was about the Cubs , and they go 77-84. Same thing happened in 1989 after another NLCS loss. Every preseason magazine had the Cubs picked to go to the World Series. 77-85. Then you had the Cubs of the late 90's with Kerry Wood, Steroid Sam, etc. One playoff appearance in 98 then 67-95. Same in 03, 08, etc. Writers, fans, analyst, etc. go crazy over the Cubs and they crap the bed.

how can i bet you that they get more than 76 wins?

we can let someone else hold it from this board then pay the winner after the season.

Im willing to put up anywhere from $100-$500. you name the amount
