Wasn't his qualifying offer in the fall that he turned down like $15m?

Is this what being a good team feels like?

Whatever it is, I'll take it

Look at it like this, if indeed we do trade a young player for a pitcher it will be for a STUD.

That says a lot about this particular group IMO. I'm a big numbers guy, but that reception his team gave him is incredible to see.

There is so much to love about this organization.

Also some pics on twitter of him in the middle of the entire team giving a speech.

This is going to be a fun year.

@CarrieMuskat: Fowler rejected more money from O's to return to #Cubs. Says "It's an exciting time to be a Cub"

It moved.

Yea. Obviously didn't get the long term/right money deal he wanted, comes back to the cubs, goes into FA in an incredibly weak class next year...wins a world series in the process. I mean sure he should've just taken the QO, but that probably would've meant the cubs offseason didn't play out like it did. This is incredibly exciting. Only way it could have worked out better from the cubs perspective is if he would play for free.

The flexibility of this team is nuts:

C- Montero/Schwarber
2B - Zobrist/Baez/Russel
SS - Russell/Baez
3B - Bryant/Baez/Zobrist
RF- Soler/Heyward
CF- Fowler/Heyward
LF- Schwarber/Soler

Plus Baez, Zobrist and Bryant can all play OF.
Plus La Stella

I mean, what else do you do? Cogs*, baez, fowler, lastella, MURTON. that bench is better than the reds are.

*derp.
