Yeah, he ain't getting face games vs Arizona or Philly on a wednesday afternoon.

have to be smart if you plan to sell games, look at market. I laugh at guys wanting face, when i can get better on stubhub for $30 less per seat!

You'll get face for nice weather in summer and weekends

The last Cubs game I went to in September I got 15th row seats for $8
People were literally handing them out free for cheap seats

Ask yourself if buying tickets and reselling them is profitable and easy why would someone willingly give up the tickets
Don't listen to ignorant morons on a forum who have been only to a couple of Cubs games

No point starting a thread about this and this thread is tangentially related.

Cubs in negotiations with nats for Jordan Zimmerman. Nats want a middle infielder speculation right now is Castro or Baez. One "source" expects the deal to get done. Might be ok with it if Zimmerman is extended and it's Baez. Will be pissed if it's Castro.

As for season tickets. If you don't own a business or have clients to give them away to then it's going to be difficult to sell your tickets. Not a lot of demand on getaway day at 1pm.

Cubs day games have to kill their market Id imagine. People just can't make those games.

But they are doing major renovations to Wrigley. So it'd be the time to do it.

I would try to resell a lot of them in bulk to someone.

Plus is this guy buying a single ticket?

Single tickets are essentially worthless

No buying a pair of tickets, but splitting it with a friend

I just moved to Chicago 2 months ago and yeah I'd do it. Optimism it seems is at all-time high with the hiring of Joe Maddon, stadium renovations and a promising young roster - no reason to think they won't be the hottest tickets in town over the next 2-5 years and provide ample opportunity to recoup/ profit off the investment.

Note: I was trying to scalp (buy) tickets for at the least face value this past August trying to get into a weekend series vs TB when the Cubs were in last place in their division - stadium was packed and they sucked - and the game was already in the 3rd inning.

Did u try buying tickets in May the end of August or September

Those summer games better catch a premium to make up for those other months when the stadium has lots of open seats

Yea, almost every game was an exaggeration, but you should still be able to get close to face for a lot of games if you work a little bit.

I've had Rockets season tickets for 10+ years now and I used to sell quite a few when the Rockets were struggling and I couldn't attend a lot of games. I would put together a 4-6 game package deal on Craigslist with some of the shittier games and a couple better match ups and/or weekend games. I never had an issue selling them. Usually to a small business or family that liked the idea of having seats in the same place every game. It got to the point where 3 of them were return customers and would email me before the season requesting tickets for a couple games. Before the season even started I had 16+ games sold at face value with half of them being somewhat undesirable weekday matchups..

Whether or not this would work for the Cubs...who knows? Especially if people can buy tix for $8 like running tiger says.

Ehhh....maybe I'm ignorant of Wrigley prices but I assume the seats would suck if they're the cheapest. I've never had problems getting tickets for under 20 at any park I've been to(Atlanta, Miami, both New York, Baltimore)

If you have the extra cash, do it.

They are in the first year of a major 4 year renovation project, which will increase ticket value itself.

Couple that with the fact that they will be much better and are poised to remain that way for the foreseeable future, and it's a no-brainer. It may not pay off this year, but you will not have the chance to get them that cheap in a year or two

Not to mention you can sell Cardinals games and other marquee matchups for well over face value
