Cousins To Atlanta?

Local radio host here in Atlanta Mike Bell seems to think Cousins at the combine to sign with Atlanta

If so wonder what the Vikings have in mind. Trade for fields? Draft a QB in the first round or trade up? They have a really solid team if they can find the right QB.

The Vikings are indicating otherwise, with feelers put out that the market for Cousins has been soft.
Keep in mind he can't really resign with them until after March 11th or 12th-- the NFL calendar year needs to end, for purposes of his existing contract and its terms.
Most likely scenario- returns to the Vikings on a 2 year deal, somewhere around 45M per.

That’s a good deal if he’s healthy. The salary cap just had a huge bump, there will be another increase in 2025, there’s going to be 16 QBs earning at least $40M this season, and the ceiling is about to hit $60M.
The Vikings won’t be locked into a long term deal, and won’t be anywhere near the top of the market.

Falcons seem to be willing to pay more apparently Blank told everyone to do what you have to do to get Kirk. Doesn’t surprise me since Blank is getting up there and age and doesn’t have much time left. Dude wants a ring and he seems willing to do whatever it takes

It wasn't a local radio host. It was Zach Klein of Ch.2 For our Louisiana baws, he's the preeminent sports reporter for the top ABC affiliate in the entire country in WSB. He has sources and connections everywhere. If he's reporting it then it has definite legs.
Cousins would be a fantastic move for the Falcons. He can play. He would make them the runaway favorite in the NFC South.
If he was the QB last year w/that roster the Falcons win 10-11 games.

That's weeks old; they are currently being more linked to Mayne, due to the QB coach.
The problem is that's contrary to what's actually coming from the organization, which fully expects to come to terms with Kirk after the calendar flips.

Giving a 36 year old QB coming off a torn Achilles a 3 year fully guaranteed contract has absolutely zero chance of backfiring whatsoever.
