He's one of the most successful HS coaches of all time in the country, knows the area well for recruiting, and excellent motivator and speaker.

I suspect this will be CJ's last year so it can't be any worse.

Don't be so sure, the hard part of the schedule is over. 3-4 wins is fine by Rick Dickson.

He could. May not be successful.

I could coach them. Definitely wouldn't be successful

Would love to see a successful program but just do not see the commitment of the university or the community to winning athletically

No slight but it's harder for a private school to garner fan loyalty...specially when academics are better than any team they could field

I don't think he would really be interested in leaving the school named after him, but I think that he would be pretty good there. He already out recruits every highschool(I'm not necessarily saying out right recruiting in the vast majority of cases. Kids just want to play for him and his program recruits itself) in the region and he's very smart. One of his biggest advantages is having a lot of kids in his system for multiple years before they even get to highschool. I could see him working really closely with some NOLA area coaches and turning their second tier players into JV Tulane players. Their top players will still end up in P5 conferences but Curtis rarely has the most natural talent in the area. They do however always seem to be in the conversation for best team. I can see him making Tulane a pretty good system team with primarily south La kids.

Hiring him if he even wanted the job would probably be looked on as a questionable hire or even giving up on the program type hire outside of the region. It would also potentially be controversial inside the region

he's getting too old. Maybe 15 years ago.

It's actually named after his father.

I agree that he is where he wants to be. The school is truly a family affair, with the bulk of coaches and administrators there sharing the Curtis last name. LSU's Bill Arnsparger offered him a spot on his staff 30 years ago, but Curtis turned it down, and to my knowledge he has never applied for any college coaching vacancies despite having a countless number of opportunities to do so over the years.

I don't think he could do any worse than CJ.
