You understand he had previous incidents right

You read my original post right? I acknowledged his past issues with marijuana, but why should he not be able to drink a few beers? There is absolutely nothing illegal or wrong about that.

But does the punishment fit the crime? Thats essentially what the judge ruled in the Tom Brady case. Is suspending a player for an entire season for drinking a beer justifiable? I think its ridiculous.

Your name wouldn't happen to be Lester Munson IRL would it?

Becaues he wasn't allowed, per the collective bargaining agreement.

I just think the penalty is too much. You guys keep referring to the "collective bargaining" argument, but Tom Brady also agreed to that agreement, in which Roger Goodell was granted power to levy punishment on players. This judge didnt agree with the process or the punishment, and thats what i find interesting. I bet in the next bargaining agreement, the rule that Josh Gordon is being suspended for will be revised.

If you're on probation and you frick up do you feel the judge should let the violation slide or enforce the law as it relates to said probation?

He used his power unfairly, by not allowing Brady to properly defend himself.

Why couldn't Josh just not drink the beers? Exactly. He's suspended because he has a substance abuse problem and he's repeatedly defied the NFL's requirements for him. When you continually have substance related problems like he did, it's obvious he's out of control

Josh Gordon might have a case if the NFL got a tip that he was drinking natty light

Then decided to set up a trap by setting a 6 pack of beer for him and a friend of his on the plane

Then test 3 out of the 6 empty cans with a million dollar investigation without any measure of consistency of how much alcohol is usually in a can of beer

Then let their league spokesman edit the "independent"investigation and then hide him from the appeal hearing

Even then he'd still be fricked because the CBA actually spells out a situation for substance abuse with a clear schedule of punishment

I think the prosecution can rest its case now.

Not sure what to tell you here, the 2 are completely different.

1 was by the book, the other obviously was not.
