I love how Jimbo told the refs to watch out for Notre Dame picking and blocking downfield when those plays are Jimbo's bread and butter.

It did look like the defender initiated the contact, but the defender can do that within 5 yards of the line. It became a penalty when the receiver put his hands on the defender, and started blocking him. If the receiver would have stood his ground(basically shielding the defender) with his hands up in the air, then it would have been a legal play.

ACC got its championship last year and FSU will get to the playoffs this year. But no way can they beat Mississippi State or Alabama.

The Alabama team that beat Arkansas by one and the MSU team that has worse talent than FSU at every position?

Yeah no way FSU who hasn't lost in 23 games, could beat either of them

I don't understand your theory. That the defenders could have easily got around it and closed on a wide open receiver but chose instead to defend guys not running routes?

Typical Notre Dame cry baby. Wow no one saw this coming. It was illegal plain and simple. Kelley is a fricking idiot. He says he teaches it the way it was done and he doesn't teach cheating. Yeah ok, whatever.

Does anyone think if the roles were reversed and FSU was down 4, ran the same play, scored a TD with 6 secs left, that the same ref would have had the balls to make that call with the FSU crowd going bonkers? Hell no.

Watch the play from the start. Which guy engaged first? The DB did.

The other point that many are missing is that FSU blew the coverage. They were bailed out by the call. That same DB did NOT have responsibility for the WR who caught the TD. Pretty simple to see on the review.

The call is okay and I can see why it happened.

But yes, youre right, FSU did not even attempt to guard Robinson...You can tell by Ramseys reaction (FSU DB) after the play that he was pissed at Darby.

No. Both receivers ran into the defenders and blocked them well into the endzone. The guy at the top of the screen was blatant PI.

The coverage wasn't blown. One of the defenders was supposed to switch to the underneath route but couldn't because the receivers were blocking. Without the OPI that route is still open but it was that wide open because of the OPI.

So yeah, you could say that FSU was bailed out, but the receivers prevented any chance for FSU to make a play at the goal line. It's still a penalty that was correctly called.

Best calls would have been a no-call or off-setting -defender was as/more involved than receiver. And the play was happening within 2 lousy yds of the line of scrimmage.

What was called not only negated the TD, it moved ND back to the 18 yd line. Off-setting would have at least allowed a reset.

Anyone have word on the official who threw the flag (SIAP)? FSU/ACC/FL ties by any chance?

Id have preferred ND win but

two receivers were blocking DB's in the endzone, never looked to run any type route, hands all over them

had to be called and right call

If your team was better they shouldn't have allowed the game come down to one play

I do. It was an unbelievably easy call.
