I think it will pick up steam over the next few years. I thought there was a good reason why they don't use it already, but apparently there isn't.

Hell, thinking about it now you could use stuff like refs in soccer and their goal-line tech. Give the home plate umpire a watch (so he can still determine foul balls, plays at plate, etc.) that reads out ball or strike and creates instantaneous decisions
