In a sweeping overhaul of the franchise's football leadership that started with the dismissal of coach Ron Rivera on Monday morning, Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris has hired two prominent executives - ex-Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers and ex-Minnesota Vikings GM Rick Spielman -- to assist his ownership group with searches for a new head of football operations and a head coach, franchise officials told ESPN.

After the Arthur Smith firing, I wonder when teams really fire head coaches. Do they really just fire them a few hours off the game and just hold off on announcing it until the next day as a courtesy to the head coach? Especially in a case like this, it would suck to get called into the office to be told that you’re getting canned at seven in the morning.

Rivera always looked like he had no idea what was going on. I remember last year he found out he was eliminated from the playoffs from a reporter in the post game press conference.

Might has well given him a fake headset. Always just stood there watching the game, never said a word.

And yet, he'll get another NFL HC job. It's amazing how once you're in the club, no matter how much you actually suck, they'll continue to hire you.

I’d imagine their agents are told before the last game.

Eh. I know its common in the NFL to keep hiring these bums, but this sorta seems it for him

Been wondering lately how much of Stroud's success can be attributed to Slowik's offense.
