I'm 5'9" and not terribly skilled at bball but found that I could play with most of the girls on the UA Women's team. I think some of the semi-pro intramural teams at UA could beat the women's team in a game.

In the 8th grade my basketball team scrimmages the varsity girls twice a week The entire season, they beat us once and we spotted them 10 and the coaches cheated because they were bitching that we too fast lol. We were getting so many and 1s that they made us shoot free throws from top of the key and any contact on the was an automatic 2 shots

so many girls shoot from their chest, too

so you have much smaller, slower players who have lower shooting angles

Sylvia Fowles used to play at the REC. She was a 6'5 All-American and as close to a man as it gets. The frat guys, or whoever, dominated her. She couldn't get a rebound or a shot off.

I posted this in the other thread but I'm pretty sure I can field a team of players down at the Y that could drub UCONN.

Fair Park team with Stromile Swift and Reggie Robinson would wipe the floor with the best college girl's team ever.

I went to a Bishop Gorman (Vegas) game this year they would put 200 on UCONN women if they wanted too.

I think they started a 7'0, 6'11 and 6'10 guy. Like someone said any team with even average basketball height would own a womens team.

shite a good bit that dont even make the top 28 could easily beat any womens CBB team

I'll take it a step further. Every top 28 team would make a viable WNBA squad. Most would be able to win the WNBA championship.

Hell, take the best collection of 12 women in basketball history in their prime, and I would probably take most state title winning teams over them. Though I am not as confident about this one.

this is probably a better matchup, because you can take a britney griner and probably some other 6'7 girls who would make the matchup more interesting.

Tennessee scrimmaged against men regularly. Summit picked players of equal height to go against. Guys who were good high school players but by no means college material. The best women were played heads up by these guys, so much so that often the women would get mad and want to fight.

'm not saying a high school team would dominate a women's elite 8 team 80-something to zero. I'm just showing you that the difference between men and women in a sport like basketball is huge.

People just don't realize the difference in speed, ' strength & size that even High School boys have over women.

I was reading this article about the history of Men V. Women in tennis & its very telling:

LINK

The best was German Karsten Braasch(never won a tour event) ranked 203rd in the world & best none for smoking cigarettes during changeover(he caused the no smoking on court rule).

Braasch beat both Serena & Venus (16 & 17) on the same day. Beat Serena smoked a cigarette & then beat Venus.

Chris Evert says in her autobiography that at her peak her low level college playing brother dominated her.

Absurd that anyone would think otherwise.

I doubt the UConn women claim they could beat a good boys High School team.

Size , speed & strength difference would be overwhelming.

Its not misogyny that I say this since I greatly prefer some women sports over men such as Tennis, Volleyball, Gymnastic & even enjoy women track & field equally as men.

Most women who play college basketball would not claim the ability to be beat boys & the Williams sisters learned early & now are aware of the differences.

Only Rousey(who wants publicity) & her fans/promoters would dare fix their lips to say she can beat Mayweather or male fighters. They can safely say this knowing it shall never happen.,

They're different sports. I will say, some of the women on these top college teams can shoot better than a lot of the men.

A tenacious man to woman defense would destroy the girls' team offenses. There would be countless fast breaks off turnovers. There would also be an untold number of blocked shots. The women would also have a very difficult time stopping the guys from pounding the offensive boards.

Having said that, I am pretty sure that some of these female players would play a pretty good one on one game against many (but not most) of the high school male players.

I actually think tennis is one of the few sports where the physical differences are negated quite a bit by technique and women can hang. However, a guy on here who played for LSU says any respectable D1 guy could crush any woman. I think the accepted is opinion is the top 300 men would beat Serena.

I don't think your average high school boys hoops squad beats UCONN women, but any top end high school would.

depends on what class you are referring to. I would imagine that most avera 3A-5A schools could beat them with little struggle.
