I have no scientific evidence, but I would think as long as people have been playing golf and the really, really, smart people that design this stuff now somebody would have already done this if it is that much better. I don't think DeChambeau is that revolutionary because there are people a lot smarter than him designing and making golf clubs and they don't love this idea even after DeChambeau started using these clubs.

Just my two cents

If you learned with varied shaft lengths, it'd be difficult to switch up.

That would be the issue.

Starting as a kid with them, there most likely is scientific evidence (motor Learning) that this would be beneficial.

My opinion is it is a great idea, considering Dechambeau's success. At the same time, you'd have to go at it with a all or nothing attitude. If there is any chance of going back to traditional iron lengths, you've wasted your time.

Do you know what DeChambeau majored in and why?

He's as smart as those guys are. He's gone into analytics to a degree golf has never seen before

Dude I understand he majored in physics. By no means is the guy a dumbass, but the lead R&D engineers are former NASA and Boeing engineers. There's been almost 20 years of modern club technology before this guy came on the scene and no one else uses the equipment he does. What DeChambeau does obviously works for him, but that doesn't mean it's better than the technology all these companies are producing.

I tried the F7's last night off of a mat at Dick's. A very different experience. I compared them to my Tommy Armour 845U's and the store's Callaway XR's and TaylorMade SpeedBlade HL's.

The F7 I swung was a 5 iron. It took a few swings to get used to the shorter length, even though I choke up pretty well on my irons these days. I felt like I was leaning over it quite a bit.

Out of the 3 new irons I tried, the Callaway XR's were the best in consistency and distance... but not enough to convince me that I need a new set of irons.

I also swung a Callaway XR16 driver with a stiff shaft, a Big Bertha and an Epic-all non-adjustable versions.

The Callaway XR16 driver is amazing. I'll be buying one soon. It was effortless to swing and hit relatively straight and very long (250-280 yards according to the display).

As for the F7 One-Length's-I'l hold off for now. I might pick some up on the used market at the end of the season and see how they play off of grass. The concept still intrigues me, but I'm not ready to make the leap just now.
