Fisher ought to be less tolerant now because they did win the national title last year.
The thing is Fisher still ought to be able to win the ACC without Winston, ACC sucks

Jimbo Fisher said he's the smartest player he's ever coached.

I have no firsthand knowledge of this, but someone did tell me that Winston does well academically.

ETA: Not the same as good judgment, I realize.

wait that already happened with Ryan Perrilloux

You continue to show your ignorance every time you post. Perrilloux was kicked off the team much earlier and for a lot less

Jimbo needs to shut his yap concerning Winston and his legal issues with the rape case. He's just looking like an idiot at this point.

Respect? What do you think this is? a monastery? This is big business. How long will it take for you naïve rubes to realize that this isn't about amateur athletics but about multibillion dollar TV contracts and million dollar salaries? Respect. Get out of here with that 1940s pre forward pass college football notion.

We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. I agree that he needs to be shown tough love but why to the media? An attempt to satisfy the public?

Whatever is going on behind the scenes isn't working. Jameis still acting like an idiot.

Oh man that's the last thing he needed. Now, he's going to lose a lot of sleep this week. ND has a real shot now.

Jameis Winston will fizzle out within a few years and be completely irrelevant because he is too much of a dumbass.

FSU boosters and the school administrators love that dude. It's pretty much irrelevant what anybody else thinks.

Fisher can't be accused of changing the culture at Florida State. The school, and he, have continued to apply the same standards as when Bobby Bowden was the coach. Win at all costs.

I actually respect Fisher for not caving into the media mayhem every time some allegation/controversy pops up. The media blows everything out of proportion for ratings, and they do so with impunity. I respect the fact that he wants due process to be the rule, not sensationalism.

I agree that the media sucks, but contract bonuses are driving Jimbo's train:

quote:

$100,000 for a division title
$100,000 for a conference title
$75,000 for making the playoffs
$200,000 for making the national title game
$200,000 for winning the national title game
$100,000 for a non-national title game major bowl game
$50,000 for a non-major bowl game
$200,000 for a top-five finish
$100,000 for a top-10 finish
$200,000 for an undefeated season

Their backup will cost Jimbo huge money.
