Now that the NBA season is over, what do the Cavs do and who do they go after this offseason? They have an interesting offseason ahead of them. The following is what decisions the Cavs have to make. I put next to each player what i would do with their contractual situations. What say you?

Lebron James - Player Option (Resign)
Kevin Love - Player Option (Resign)
JR Smith - Player Option (Opted Out Dont Match)
Mike Miller - Player Option (Hopefully he retires)
Timofey Mozgov - Team Option (Pick up Option)
Matthew Dellavedova - RFA (Dont Match)
Tristan Thompson - RFA (Match Offer Resign)
Iman Shumpert - RFA (Dont Match)
James Jones - UFA (Release)
Brendan Haywood - UFA (Release)
Kendrick Perkins - UFA (Release)
Shawn Marion - UFA (Release)

seems about right, although I think Love is gone.

Better bring in some studs and win next year or bron bron is gonna be gone too.

What about Dwayne Wade or try to steal Jimmy Butler from Chicago?

Keep everyone intact for a productive offseason. They seriously do not need to do anything except keep their key players healthy, which is out of their control

I know it's not an option if he opts out, but if he doesn't, do they try to trade Love?

I'm good either way with Love's decision. If he leaves that opens up all kinds of $$ for the Cavs to bolster their roster.

If the Cavs signed Gasol, they'd win 3 titles in a row.

I don't know anything about their contracts, but JR and Shump were fiiiiiiine before they had to start playing 40 minutes per game. If they can improve the lineup then by all means, do it. But if this years team gets healthy they will be favorites or damn near close to win the ship.

Not an UFA. He has another year with 10.5 million towards the cap. Which is trade gold for a team looking for a buyout.

Yeah, I think he's out. They need to make moves to stop relying so much on range and build a team that can bang down low in the post. It's not that he needs stars. He needs guys who can play solid minutes without letting the opponents go on 10 point runs. When Dellavedova was playing scrappy and all about hustling, it complimented Lebron's game really well because he didn't have to be the only one out there. Once the fanfare kicked in, though, Delly was suddenly playing hero ball, and everything was downhill from there. That's obviously not the only reason, but it just shows how much better Lebron is with a solid cast of role players than he is with stars or players who want some of the spotlight.

I thought Cleveland already did that? I think he is off the books. If not, then absolutely trade him. Thats a big chunk of $$

I don't know how much more Love gives them over a Tristan Thompson in this system. Not worth the penny at least.

This definitely isn't a team to blow up though. They're pretty darn close.

I've said this a million times during the Finals, but JR Smith has one of the lowest basketball IQs I've ever seen. If he's not draining, his contribution will turn solely into making stupid decisions.

There's about a 10 day window were his cap hit is 10m and he can be released. July 1 to July 10th maybe?
