Coaching was the difference. I saw both teams play several times. The Ball's father is a self absorbed jackass. It's one of the reasons the coach from last year left. All three boys are talented but the oldest is the best. The middle is at best a 3 star. The youngest is not as athletic and I doubt he reaches 6'6".

The 92 point game was Pitiful. They were up 30. The kid never crossed half court and snowbirded the entire fourth quarter. Hitting layups and some threes. Not sure why anyone would do that up 30 but that should tell you a lot about the program and those kids.

Not to mention the father is selling tee shirts, hats, warm ups, anything with Ball Brand Basketball on it.

NCAA should ask how Lonzo was driving a brand new Mercedes once he committed to UCLA his JR year and how the middle brother has been driving a brand new BMW for over a year.

Alford and his crew are as dirty as any program in the country.

a PG with unlimited range who is relentless pushing the pace. The only thing that's left is for him to master the pick and roll

They already have money. The dad basically retired to watch his sons play ball.

they have routinely gone toe to toe with some of the best teams in the country and did so last year with a potential #1 overall pick

Is Westbrook not a below average 3 point shooter?

What does it say about L.A. hype that 10,000 people come out for it? I think they just like LaMelo's hair

Chino Hills shot 30.6%. Eww.

quote:

The Ball brothers, senior LiAngelo and sophomore LaMelo, combined for 54 points.

LaMelo had 28 and LiAngelo had 26. But they took a lot of shots, and missed a lot of them. Together they were 17 for 65 from the floor – LaMelo was 8 for 33, and LiAngelo was 9 for 32. On 3-pointers, LaMelo was 8 for 28, and LiAngelo was 5 for 18.

he's streaky but more importantly is he's unafraid to take them. I personally don't enjoy this kind of basketball. But it's the 2017 archetype and Lamelo is qualified to be the one that puts it all together at the highest level.

Not surprising based on the shot selection.

28 of 33 shots were 3s, and he didn't make a single 2pt shot.

Their combined eFG% was 36.1%. They combined to go 4 of 19 from 2-point range. That is an epically putrid shooting performance, although I understand they're both upper echelon HS players.

LaMelo is a Steph Curry clone. While Steph has been wildly successful, if I had to build the perfect basketball player for 2017, I'm not sure if Steph/LaMelo is it.

But he'll have taken the best parts of Curry Harden Isiah etc and put it in to one. Obviously this is assuming he's healthy and continues to progress.
