Dude is awesome. Looks like some average late 40's dude at the plate, but throws guys out stealing second and hits home runs. Apparently has an awesome personality too.

Kind of related, but what happens with Ross when he comes back? Does he expect much playing time?

Something tells me he's happy just sitting on the bench 75% of the time playing cheerleader.

He'll still be lester's personal catcher and i expect you see him sneak in a few more games than usual. Maybe 2 starts per week.

Good to see some of the Ross dislike from last year has dissipated.

I've gone full 180 on him. If schwarber were healthy it might be a different story. Still think personalized catchers are stupid (but that could just be my hate for tim mccarver)

These Pirates announcers are butt hurt about the Cubs fan's throwing the ball back after a homer

With that said the dad was kind of a jerk from taking it back from his son and throwing it back.

If it helps Lester, then I am all for it. We can afford a below average in the lineup. I would much rather be resting our catcher rather than putting him through Sal Perez hell (playing every single day).

Also, he is such a great influence on the clubhouse and helps the team play to the best of their abilities. It is amazing how accepting everyone is to shifting around because you normally would think that would be losing your job because everyone loves and trust Maddon so much that they know that they will get their at-bats.

JD was pimping that hard last year, even saying Ross was one of the Cubs most valuable players because of this.

I had a hard time getting on board with that because he hit .180 last year and was such an easy out in the lineup when he played.

But he's actually hitting much better this year so far. And he does seem to be a leader that all the other players genuinely respect and look up to.

Geaux D-Ross.
