The Cubs (27-8) take on the Pirates (18-17) this afternoon in the series finale at Wrigley. Jon Lester (4-1, 1.96) gets the ball for Chicago opposite Gerrit Cole (3-3, 3.78) for the Bucs. Cubs are going for their 2nd straight series sweep, and 6th straight victory over Pittsburgh this season. Go Cubs Go.

Why do astro fans cry if cub fans post in their daily loss thread but still try to talk shite?

Hopefully we can get to Liriano today. We never seem to have much success against him.

Would be nice to get Addison Russell hot again.

I'm guessing Maddon is just trying to get Soler as many ABs as possible, trying to will him to hit

I'm a little confused by this

quote:

Russell is riding a season-best six-game hitting streak and has four consecutive multi-hit games. In his last seven games, he is hitting .393 with eight RBIs.

and

quote:

In addition, he has shown improvement at the plate from his rookie season in 2015, with his average (.264) and slugging percentage (.406) higher and his on-base percentage making a huge jump from .307 last year to .383 in 2016.

I don't know if it's expectations are too high but the kid is playing great, but still folks don't seem to be satisfied. Hell there was even someone saying he was at risk of losing his job to baez the other day.

Checked into the thread to see what's up with the Cubs and the best GM in baseball...

Truthfully enjoyed this comment:

Then it was topped by this one:
quote:

THIS LOSING STREAK IS AWFUL

I'm just going to go back to the Daily Loss Thread and prepare myself for more stranded runners in scoring position.

I'm fine with that, but not when he's batting .177, with the bases loaded and the game on the line. But Maddon is playing chess while I'm over here touching myself or something.
