Fractured thumb, he's out.

ETA: Props to Justin Grimm and Mike Montgomery. Great pitching effort from them.

Bfib twitter is blowing up overnight. At least 100 tweets demanding rizzo or Bryant get hit in the ribs or ear. They're so proud to have Reyes who can throw 101 to do it.

With last night's win, the Cubs surpassed their win totals in 2011, 12, and 13. When they win today, they will tie their win total in 2014.

I hope it doesn't come to that. There's no reason to retaliate. It sucks Holliday got hurt on that, but it was unintentional. Not to mention Mike Montgomery comes from the American League and has no real reason to throw at a Cardinal hitter, especially given the game's situation.

But, leave it to Cardinals fans.

I'm not sure whether to be proud of this or embarrassed.

It means the rebuild worked. I'm excited about that.

The lineup is filled with the craziest Cubs in anticipation of The Cardinal way being exercised today. The satanic fowl are going to get hurt.

I'm not condoning the reactions, but I'm not surprised. Not because of Cardinals fan, but the lackluster up and down year, injury after injury, and you're all-time rival is taking the entire division to the wood shed. Frustration boiling over.

It's okay to be frustrated, but it's also another thing entirely to purposely hope an opposing player gets hurt as a way of evening things out.

That's your fan base.

Certainly a delusional meth-addled one that applauds hacking other teams' computer networks.

I know cubs fans have more experience dealing with let down seasons, but you're delusional if you don't think your fanbase wouldn't be reacting the same way if roles were reversed.

ETA Again, I think it's an overreaction and stupid, but let's face it, retaliation is probably going to happen because cards/cubs and baseball.

It happens all the time. Lee got hurt in 2006 by a collision with known idiot Rafael Furcal against the Dodgers. No Cardinal-esque blood feud ensued because that deranged philosophy doesn't actually take hold everywhere.

Probably Bryant. Just hope it's not around the hands or face

It won't be, I'm as big as Cards fan as there is and that wouldn't be right

I don't think anyone thinks it was on purpose, just kind of a "you are responsible for where your pitched end up" mentality
