They couldn't just keep them in SD a few more years and then announce their relocation when the stadium was ready?

A. Gates's quote says it all

quote:

"Really wasn’t expecting a full house. I’d assumed that Seattle would bring their fans, and we’d have some Los Angeles fans that’d be here to support us,” Gates said.

“But nevertheless, I was more anxious to see what we were about, about the team. And what we can accomplish. For us, it was about making progress. That’s what it’s always about in the preseason, is just trying to make progress to start off the season.”

It's just totally stupid..... I'm not the NFL fan I used to be and this choice is one of the reasons why.... the stadium they used to play in was like 65,000..... stupid I tell ya.

Chargers to San Antonio

Tom Benson would like a word

Jerry Jones would have someone assasinated before he let that happen. Besides, I doubt there's a major city in America so deeply devoted to pro franchise that isn't their own. That town has as many Cowboys fans as Dallas does.

There were hardly any Charger fans in SD. It was like a home game when the Raiders played there.

To be fair most fans avoid that game. They prefer not to get hit with batteries to the face

This move just seems to be an emotionally based and stupid decision on the part of Spanos. He is Kroenke's bitch in the new stadium deal and it won't be ready until 2020. Rot in your 27K seat soccer stadium for the next three (3) seasons Spanos.

LA went from having zero teams four years ago to having two NFL teams now. For all of its wonders, LA is a basketball/baseball town, not an NFL town.

Jerry Jones will never allow a team in SA. Just ask Tom Benson.

No kidding. SA is an NFL-size city, but they are Dallas Cowboys crazy. Jerrah would lose a butt ton of his fan base.

Eh, I'd like to look at the season ending P&L statement before making this determination .

Austin, TX is the most perplexing. It is the 11th biggest city in America and it doesnt have a single major franchise

2 big reasons for that

DFW and Houston. Austin really does not need a pro team, they have one in the Longhorns and the Torros do not even get to play in the good gym.

I mean, maybe. Washington, Philly, and NY all have multiple pro franchises and they are packed in pretty tight
