but once again will be ineligible for playing in the Sunbelt Conference championship game.

I have never understood why teams that move up from FCS are ineligible for postseason play. It makes sense if you move down but moving up shouldn't be an issue b/c you're technically at a big disadvantage. Seems really unfair to cock block a former FCS team from a bowl if they are good enough to make it in their first few seasons.

Honestly, no idea what to expect from UW this year...other than "better than last year". Week 1 will be fun.

Ahh, a cultured CFB fan.

Not one of these casual nephews who cry week 1 is total trash b/c they don't see enough blue blood matchups.

Seems alot of G5/Funbelt folks are expecting South AL to be really good this year. I think that Western Division is Troy's for the taking, though, and if our O-Line is healthy, I think the Cajuns beat South AL.

I am interested in seeing how they matchup against Tulane, and to see how Tulane opens the season after last year. Loved seeing them pop USC in the mouth.

They're bringing back something like 18 starters from a 10-3 squad that only lost by 4 to Troy and by 1 to UCLA at the Rose Bowl in the regular season. The double digit bowl loss to WKU in the NOLA Bowl was bad though.

If Graham Mertz excels at Florida, would it be more of an achievement for Florida or an indictment on the PC regime in Madison?

UGA also won the natty, which was last season, and although we have a brand new QB and OC, they still decided to rank us #1

Well yeah, there’s more players on the field than just a QB

You know what's funny... you talking smack when Iowa and South Carolina had the same record last year...

And SC isn't ranked, are they?

Not to mention, what SC did or didn't do last yera has no bearing on the hilarity of Iowa being ranked. Iowa is trash that would barely scrape .500 if they played a schedule with any real meat on it. They played 2 teams wiht a pulse last year and lost by an AVERAGE of 29 points.

I’m excited for this game, South Alabama is really good. Don’t know what happened in their bowl game but they have a solid roster.

This is the first time I can ever remember there being this much hype around Tulane’s program. I’m interested to see how the team handles it

Rankings in August are what makes current college football a joke. And the brain washed fans eat it up while they complain later. It’s been a 100 year scam by the NCAA. Thankfully, some real business people are going to bring honesty to this corrupt sport with a real 20plus team playoff in the future.
