Because they know nothing about the history, culture, attitude and support of UCLA football.

It's a basketball school - always has been.

Gutty little Bruins might show up to play spoiler once and awhile...but they are no way ever mentally prepared to be the favorites and win.

Their greatest joy is to upset USC. That's what they live for...they certainly have no DNA for National Championships. It's not bias...it's a fact...living in the Pac-12. Stanford and UW have a far greater DNA to take that next step. Not UCLA...being good - for them...is enough praise.

People on here are assuming way too much. They don't understand the Pac-12 culture.

This is like making Ole Miss the favorite in the SEC b/c their QB is returning.

and even if they win the Pac 12 they probably won't be one of the top 4 teams...

As long as they don't have more than 1 loss, the PAC 12 champ will likely be in the playoff

Gotta start somewhere. But then again UCLA was a real good team in the 60's and 70's.

You are so stupid. I know you hate UCLA and LOVE USC but this year UCLA gonna do some serious damage to the pac-12. If they don't I will be the 1st one here to say I am wrong. BUT if UCLA somehow wins the conference and makes the playoff??? You will never show up to admit you are wrong. Bottom line is you are a USC homer POS.

Kiss of death.

Even for all these outsider opinions that don't carry any weight for supreme lack of knowledge of a conference they are now weighing in on.

What do you want to know??? I follow EVERY conference. I am a TOTAL college football fan. You stay on USC privates all day long.

Hundley is a top 3 QB in the country, The o-line will be real good. USC has less talent than UCLA face it.

that's not going to happen... yall are describing the parity in the Pac 12, but if we're mentioning UCLA for the championship, sure they might be decent, but that means Oregon, USC, Stanford are looking at down years

Its no different than the SEC where all people do here is harp how brutal it is year after year yet there's always a team that gets out with one or no losses

Why can't UCLA just be better than them??? Why do those schools have to have a down year????

well yeah but the PAC has harder nonconference schedules and yall play the extra conference game and the championship... i think there's a consensus now that it's the 2nd best conference just ahead of the Big XII

UCLA has done nothing in my lifetime... they might upset USC every now and then but so does Ole Miss to LSU...

it would also help the PAC to get better mid-tier bowl tie ins... the champ plays in the Rose and that's good but the next tier of teams plays before New Year's day in the Alamo, the Holiday Bowl, Las Vegas Bowl etc. if yall played better teams in a bowl in Seattle or the new 49ers Stadium, it might help get more hype for a team like UCLA who needs it right now

the SEC plays its hard OOCs and has a championship game to. The conference champion while rise out just like they do in the SEC

I'd say its above "just ahead" of the big 12 but that's just semantics really. Its the second best football conference right now

and? Just because UCLA had a rough first decade of the 2000s doesn't mean it won't do better going forward. UCLA has won the 2nd most conference championships in PAC football and has a winning record against everyone in the conference not named USC. UCLA has had its fair share of football success
